How much time off??

Hi Sherry: Like I posted earlier I did take the extra 2 weeks off for a total of 6 weeks. Like Nicole said the first week was my pto time then short term kicked in. When I was extended the extra two weeks my doctors office had to resubmit my paperwork to short term and I had to get reappoved again. Even though the doctor gives you that extra time does not mean short term will approve it. Every case is different and my doctors office staff stated they evaluate each person indivudually. If the time is needed they probably will extend it. Which they did on mine. To be honest I think it would be hard to get 6 weeks off for the Lap Band unless there were complications. I don't know how your job works but maybe you can use your sick time as personal time.
