cost of lap band

I was wanting to know the average of the cost of lap band by dr blackstone, vs gastric bypass....Can anyone tell me?

I think the lap band is $17-18,000 and the bypass is $22-24,000. but the office would have a more accurate figures. I only heard this because a friend of mine researched it because she wanted to pay cash since she knew her insurance wouldn't cover the surgery.

I don't know for Dr Blackstone, but generally Lap Band is around $14,500-16,500 and RNY is cheaper if you have it done Open vs Lap, but is generally around $20,000-24,000....

I talked to a girl in my pre-op class that was paying cash for a bypass-$26K with Dr. B. Not sure on the band. Maybe call Freda and ask 480-391-3885. Katie
