 My surgery date is 11/22/06, the day before Thanksgiving! I originally thought that was so awful but the more I think about it the more I have to be thankful for it. This year instead of gaining the traditional 10-15 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Years I will be on the losing side! What a wonderful thought! What an exciting journey!

Ellen, I think we're a few days apart on our surgery dates. Mine is 11/29 and I think we have the perfect time of the year! This year we'll be down that amount of weight and feeling so much better! Good luck, I think we have the same doctor too. Carole M

The best gift you can give yourself is the gift of health, and what a better way to start the new year. You'll be lighter, and have more energy, and can enjoy other activities around the holidays besides eating. I know for myself, it's hard to get involved when you're overweight. Good luck to you Ellen and keep us up to date on your progress. I have Dr. Blackstone as my surgeon also, just going thru insurance approval right now. If that's all I get for Christmas is an approval, then that would be the happiest gift I could get. Best wishes... Alli

Hi Ellen, Carole and Ally I just wanted to say hello, I see Dr Blackstone at Scottsdale Bariatric. I am scheduled for Dec. 22nd and am thrilled. I went through the 6 mo and got an approval in 3 days. Everything went pretty well with all of that. Maybe well run into one another at the clinic!! Take care for now, Erin in Peoria

Ellen, Thanks for the reminder! I was a little bummed about having surgery right before the holidays too. But, it is definitely something to be thankful for and we get a head start on some big life changes in 2007. ~ Ayaunna
