Good PCP

Does anyone know a good PCP in Phx? My body *hurts*. One knee is shot and the pain is almost constant, the other is on its way, and my hip and arms,and wrists are quite painful. I am sure it is the a blend of arthritis and the weight my body is carrying. Things are going well with all the pre-tests so far,but I am having a lot of trouble with swelling, and more so with sleeping. I am on a walker and have missed so much work it is scary. Thank God for FMLA,but I am burning my time. I do not think my new doctor hears or cares about anything. I am on United Healthcare choice plus. Does anyone have a barriatric friendly PCP, who understands the plight of a fat person? I have almost completed all of my pre-paperwork, but my health is failing fast, the newest thing being diabetes, to add to the high blood pressure, and asthma. Even my pysch exam came back with the fact that I am fatigued and in physical pain. Thanks, and take care...

I go to Joel Edelstein near PV hospital. His brother has a supervised weight loss program in the office so they are on top of obesity issues. He is my internal medicine doc and I dont mind the travel because I'm worth it ( I live in Mesa). I ran into difficulty and began to gain weight on 600- 700 calories a day. Well I nearly had a fit and went to see him and he was very thorough and helped me through this and got my uncooperative body back on track!!!!! Good Luck Moira

Linda Call you baratric doctor or any baraiatric office in your area and aks , mine ( Dr Blackstone ) gave me a reccomendation to a bariatric friendly doctor in my area - said the refer to her alot . I am meeting her for the first time next week - Dr Lucas is in Tempe ..

She will take care of you... You might also want to look into seeing a Pain Specialist... After see 2 different ones... I now see Dr. Mark Rubin at the Arizona Center for Pain Relief. He is located at Desert Ridge, right off the Loop 101 and Tatum Blvd. I am very happy with him... he has a great staff and office!
