halfway thru me donating blood, my vein falls... all the blood to waste. they couldn't try again because once the needle left the vein the blood is at risk to be contaminated... i feel bad because i really wanted to give blood.

O.K. Nicole....I'm racking my brain quickly to try and remember if you are post-op or on deck! Forgive my overcrowded memory banks! .....Cuz if you are post-op then I'm going to go preachy for a minute and warn you! NEVER donate blood! Many will try and many will succeed but with our low iron/ferritin issues it is recommended by the majority of surgeons to NEVER give blood as a post-op bariatric bypass patient (Lap Banders are the exception)! I'm sorry you had this crummy experience. Any needles and bloody ooopsies are dramatic enough but when it's your own story unfolding infront of you then it must have been awful! ......take care of yourself! Joyce
