Surgery is done! On clear/free liquids at the moment (non fizzy so far****il 14th/15th March then onto pureed (babyfood consistency) for 2 weeks. Then solids again, can't wait. Got a nasty UTI, but it's cleared up overnight with the help of some Cephalexin... I'll be sure to take the full lot of it. Anyways, I'd LOVE some recipe ideas for the next step - pureed food. Anyone have any great recipes I can try out that I'll be able to manage? Solid diet recipes wont be an issue, although I can always do with the help. I love trying different stuff... just wish I could encourage my girlfriend to eat more than meat pies, pizza and the occasional broccoli/peas/potato. Keep on walking!

Thanks, we've never been up your way I'd love to see one of the 7 wonders! Maybe the Blue Mountains would fit in this weekend. I love this place, but it sure is expensive! LOL We are getting a little rain here tonight.

Hi all, My name is Effie and I had Gastric Sleeve done on the 27th February 2008 and feeling great. I did the optifast diet for 5 weeks prior to suregery and lost 7.5 kilos. I weighed myself 1 week post op and lost 4.5 kilos more !! So far I havent had any complications, I am following all my surgeons instructions and am going strong. For the first time in my life I feel fantastic and am very excited knowing that im going to be able to walk without feeling puffed out, I cant wait to sit on the floor and play with my daughter. Life has been very tough for me these last 4 years but im a fiesty girl and am pulling through it all. Please feel free to message me Regards Effie :-)

well depending on budget and time frame you have to get away from sydney, I would suggest a drive through the blue mountains, in sydney itself go to taronga zoo, the sydney aquarium and the operah house, there are also a bunch of museums and art gallerys. If you had the budget for it and the time flying to melbourne to take a drive around the borossa valley and the great ocean road would be a treat for you (youd get to see the 12 apostles, one of the 7 wonders of the world). hope this has been of some help? I live about 8 hours north ot sydney, closer to brisbane.

Hi, I had lap band surgery in 2006, I only had one fill before I went to the USA to live for a year, I lost 30kg and fell pregnant by surprise, I had the baby 3 months ago and I am getting my second fill the day after tomorrow. I am excited because I know it works, all you have to do is look at everyones before and after pics on here. It is daunting to make the dicision to take this huge step and become a completely different person, the person you want to be and may have wanted to be for a long time. I wont lie, at times it can be uncomfortable and you wonder if it was worth it but once you start to see amazing results you may have found hard to achieve before it all seems worthwhile. My main piece of advice is chew everything really well and dont try eating certain foods before you are ready or meant to. Be especially careful if eating in public or at a restaurant because if you get distracted when eating and forget to chew everything extra well it can be embarassing if you get regurgetation.
