Hi Jo I have lost a total of 17kg (6kg before my operation) and 11kg since the operation which was 7weeks ago tomorrow. I still want to loose another 20kg but I am not finding it hard to do at all (fingers crossed) it continues this way. Regards Kim

Topic: RE: pre op questions
Hi Jo I had my gastric sleeve done on the 14th Feb and things are going fantastically well for me. I'm now about 6-7weeks post op and can pretty much eat everything. I actually ate my first steak tonight for dinner. The main difference now is that I MUST eat way way slower and the amount I eat would virtually be half of what I used to eat. I must say that immediately after my surgery I felt really good (No pain whatsoever) and I was released from hospital on day 4 (as I couldnt drink enough water prior to this) even though I felt really good. Each day just got better and better. Some people I've spoken to preferred to stay on Optifast past surgery but I really wanted to eat real food again and this is what I did. Anyway if you have any specific questions you would like to ask me please feel free to do so. Kind regards Kim

Yay! To fly without a seatbelt extension. That would be so wonderful and I find it hard to imagine myself able to do that again. I will check out your blog and profile for sure - thanks Leisa :-) Pam

Welcome to the both of you. I must admit I spend most of my time on the main board and only come here very occasionally. I have found the information there really helpful. I had my surgery done in November 2008 and despite a few minor complications wish I could have had it years ago. Pam I Just had a look at your profile and realised we had about the same start weight- not quite sure how tall you are- so thought I would write and let you know good times are ahead. Since I started my pre-op diet on 12th November I am down 42.5 kg and still dropping. I have so much more energy and flew about 2 weeks ago for the first time since surgery and didn't need a seat belt extension. I will be updating my blog on Monday or Tuesday after I weigh in again so if you wanted to have a look feel free. Cheers Leisa

Hi Amanda. I am new here as well. I am getting the sleeve done in June and I think the thought of the stomach leaking is also my biggest worry. I am still determined to have this done though. Good luck with your upcomming op! :-)

Hi My name is Amanda and I am due to have the sleeve done in just under two weeks. I am a bit worried - only natural I guess - and really my biggest worry is the stomach leaking! Has anyone had this experience? I would love to hear all stories - good or bad - I believe its better to be over prepared than under. Amanda

Topic: RE: We Are Here!
We ended up being with someone else from the US who had never been here before and was leaving Monday. So we spent Saturday at the Toronga Zoo, and Sunday at the Quay, Rocks and Paddy's Market. It was ok with us we didn't mind. We ate at the pancake house in the Rocks we'd heard so much about too.
