Hi everyone, well I havnt checked this forum for such a long time, because it seems like no one really came here. I usually hang around on the main message board. It has been over 13 months since I had my RNY gastric bypass in Sydney and havnt actually met anyone else who has had this done, as you all know banding is the popular choice here. I would love to chat, help, advise, support, any of you on your journey with WLS. Please feel free to contact me here any time. I come to the main message board every day, and so will try to check in. Hey, Ive been coming here long enough that I know what you should be eating, where you can buy protein etc etc , so ask me, what ever question you like, or maybe you would just like to chat with someone who knows how you are feeling, especially in the early what the..... did I do to myself stage. keep in touch Helen

Hi Helen, Thought i'd say 'HI'. I'm from Canberra and had lap-band surgery about 2 years ago. I haven't looked at this website lately but I think more Aussies need to be aware of it as it's a great source of information. Gabrielle

HI, Gabrielle, you are so right. This group is so helpful. I know we had different surgeries, but there is a lapband forum, that you could go to as well, that could be really helpful. even if it is only to get some new tips. Good luck Helen

Hi Helen Its great to see your message. Sounds like you are doing great. Im been on a platu since moving to melbourne 4 months ago it gets pretty annoying but at least Im not gaining. I still have about 60lbs to go to get to my goal. We are having a blast here in Australia. I had the RNY in July 04. Thanks for all the useful information you have given me since coming to australia it is greatly appreciated. Kathy Melbourne Au

Hi Kathy, it must be something in the water because I have been on a plateau for 4 months too, and would dearly love to lose another 50, but could be sixty pounds. Did you find the GNC store in Melbourne that sells protein powders etc? Its in the main shopping area right in the city. I ve tried a few flavours and they are not too bad at all. Hope things are still going well for you down there. hugs from up here in Sydney Helen

I had it done in 11/05 and have lost 69 pounds and have 34 to go. I am a senior citizen - work as an RN yet- and hope you dont mind helping the older generation. LOL Colette
