Hi Helen, Well I know you posted a while ago now but I thought I would just say 'Hi'. I havent had my surgery yet, but hopefully it will happen on the 1/3/06. I am getting it done through the public health system so have been on the waiting list for nearly two years now. Cheers Kylie

Hiya Norman, I had my surgery done in newie in march. Dr Gani did my surgery at the John. You have done awesome on the weight loss. It's a while to go only on fluids hey? I am on purees now and attempting some soft foods, but I think I will back off on that as it hasn't gone so well. Will be seeing the dietician next week so will see what she has to say. Cheers Kylie

Hi Kylie, I have just gone to the aussie forum and seen your post. How are things going now? How far along are you? Did you have RNY? Im over 13 months post op now, so may be able to help you with any questions you have, or just to lend y ou a supportive ear, if you need it. I see you live in WA, so it probably will be harder for you to meet any one else over there than it has been for me here in Sydney!! Ive not actually "met" anyone else that has had bypass, but who knows , with a few more newbies like you and norman on here, we could just get a group together!! keep in touch , Helen

Hi Norman, how are you going? I have only just gone to the Australian Forum, after such a long time of no replies, I usually dont check. It is difficult to find someone else to talk to in australia that has had RNY, isnt it? I had mine done last April 4, 2005. I am the worlds slowest loser, but still I work hard at it. I hope things are going well for you. Please feel free to contact me via my email and as I am an old hand at this now, may be able to help you with any questions you may have, regarding diet etc. I am so glad to have found someone who lives close by, I live in West Pennant Hills, so not too far at all. Keep in touch, Helen

Hello Fellow Aussies I am living in Kalgoorlie, WA and I am researching WLS. I have already undergone stomach stapling i***** (when I weighed 212 kg) and I lost just 30 kg. Since then I have put on much, much more, and now I weigh about 262 kg, as I have recently shed 8 kg in 2 weeks, after some eating chnages. I have been told by a surgeon that I need to shed about 50 kg to be considered for the operation, which could be a tube gastrectomy. I am scared as I would hate to fail again. Looking forward to hearing from anyone out there. Regards, Jan
