Banded But Thinking Of Sleeve

I am a lapband patient, almost 8 months post-op, and my doctor recently recommended that I get the gastric sleeve. I've had a few problems with the lapband...vomiting alot and hit a plateau after losing 54 lbs, and I still have more weight to lose.
From what I've heard, the band has a 80% failure rate and most bands need to be removed. Not to discourage anyone else that is considering it, cause I am sure that it does work for some people. But if you are constantly vomiting then you risk the risk of the band slipping and getting infection or needing the band removed completely, so why even put yourself through all that.
The Gastric sleeve is harder to get approved by insurance since it doesnt have as many years of long-term research as the other surgeries, but it is not entirely impossible to not get approved...
I JUST GOT MINE APPROVED and GOT THE NEWS OVER THE WEEKEND! I'm so happy.
