Hi I'm new to this forum. I have lap band surgery scheduled for next week. I am a little apprehensive at the present time. Would like to hear from anyone contemplating the same op. Regards Andrea.

hi andrea Not many people go on this forum so you can go weeks without any responses. I had my lap band on 29/1 so its almost been 3 weeks. I had my moments after the surgery where i thought what have i gotten myself into but that feeling soon passed. I have already lost 9.2kgs in 2.5 weeks. The first 2 weeks were hard but it was just trying to come to terms with the fact that my whole life is going to change (for the better). No longer will my eating habits rule my life. Im really happy with the decision i made. bree

Hi, I had lap band surgery in 2006, I only had one fill before I went to the USA to live for a year, I lost 30kg and fell pregnant by surprise, I had the baby 3 months ago and I am getting my second fill the day after tomorrow. I am excited because I know it works, all you have to do is look at everyones before and after pics on here. It is daunting to make the dicision to take this huge step and become a completely different person, the person you want to be and may have wanted to be for a long time. I wont lie, at times it can be uncomfortable and you wonder if it was worth it but once you start to see amazing results you may have found hard to achieve before it all seems worthwhile. My main piece of advice is chew everything really well and dont try eating certain foods before you are ready or meant to. Be especially careful if eating in public or at a restaurant because if you get distracted when eating and forget to chew everything extra well it can be embarassing if you get regurgetation.
