does it make a different with age with regards to the skin. in 86 I was alot younger and had no problem with the skin, get tightened up itself. but this time round with having had children also the skin is excessive and isnt going back in, I wouldnt be able to afford another operation for that so I guess I stay with excessive skin

Hi, my name is Rossie, I have had a bpd, 10yrs ago. I would like to hear from other people, that have kept their weight at bay?I was 163kg at my heaviest, and at one stage 3yr ago I was really sick for a 3month stay in hospital at 38kg was a shocker.I had fluid pouring out of my legs and a bad infection in the gut. After my 3rd stay in hospital, I put on 20kg with all the food and protein that they were pumping into me, and finally they let me go home. Now 3yr later, I am very healthy, and 60kg 5'3 I have osteoporous in my lower back and both hips now as I really was sick with a albumin (protein) level at .8, when entering the hospital...now my protein level is back at the normal range of 45. My life has changed so much now,I do feel like a completely new woman now! Even the texture of my hair has changed. I can now walk through the malls, and not feel self conscious. And yes, there has been many changes in the last 10yrs as well as the way they can perform the op now. I have a 30cm scar, where no sleeve surgery was avaiable in 1998. I look forward to hearing a reply from you.My surgery, has truely changed my life. How do you feel about your surgery 21yrs ago?Are you glad that you had your surgery...back then?Do you feel that, you have enough energy everyday now?I am 5'3 and 42yrs old and sitting on the 60kg figure. I feel like everyday is a blessing in it self now.How do u feel generally?Do you do much exercise?Another thing that has happened after 23yrs....is my menstral period has returned last month!I am considering having another baby...but I must do somemore research first to make sure that everything will be ok...health wise that is.Anyway,so how life for you?I guess some days its better then others.I find now that the climate, does affect me,and if I dont wear the right clothing for the day, that it can affect my blood pressure. I find that if its going to be a really hot day, I must be careful, that I dont walk straight into a air conditioned shop, as my blood pressure generally drops dramatically, when I exit the shop and then I faint. Otherwise, life is pretty good. When I am in large shopping centres, I still get a little self conscious, and dont like people staring at me.I feel that i can fit into society better now, and dont stand out like a sore thumb now.I hope this was some interesting reading for you. cheers Rossie! I look forward to hearing from you! :-)
