one week pre-op and counting!!
Hi there,
I am from the North Sydney area, and my surgeon is Dr James Ritchie, he is in Macquarie St in the city. He is online and you can google him and read about him and his statistics, and also about the different types of obesity surgery that he does. Have you booked in for surgery, or are you looking for info? Where are you from?

Many things have arisen like fatigue is a genuine concern but I will see the doctor next visit and talk that out I hope
Hi there all,
Well, I have not been on here for months! Very slack. I had my Lapband done on Nov 21st 2007, and here I am neally six and a half months later. I have only lost 15kgs, which is not as much as I had hoped. I have sa at 15kgs for about two months now. I am really struggling with food lately, and find it hard to eat good food. Good food hurts, and eventually comes back up, and junk food stays down. Bad habit to get into. I have only had two fills, so don't feel that my band is too tight.
Mornings, I have porridge, which fills me up and stays in my belly. It doesn't hurt. Lunch is really hard, and I struggle to find anything to stay down and not hurt. Generally I will have a small tin of baked beans or tuna, which is plenty. Then I will have a coffee. Dinner is the killer, as I can eat lots. At night I feel like I haven't eaten all day, so have dnner and wait half hour then have ice cream.
I am exercising six days per week, so for the last two weeks, I have changed my eating habits to get the weight off, and am really cncentrating on ditching the ice cream, and having fruit and yogurt after a weigh****chers dinner. o I have lost another kilo in the last two weeks, thank goodness, I am back on track!!
I find it really hard when we go away for the weekend, as we eat out all the time, and I tend to eat too much, and then belch.
I have been losing hair quite badly, which is apparently from not enough protein. One day I can eat chicken then the next day I can't. I can't eat steak, so try to eat tuna and baked beans oten. I find this hard to deal with, as I am always scared to eat anything that s not soft, as I don't want to be belching all the time, and cause my band to slip. How do you know when the band has slipped?
s anyone else suffering the same, or does anyone have ny helpful hints?
Thanks Kannie :>)

I know lamb digests easier, or even try it minced, I havent had a good steak in 20 years but I dont miss it anymore, I think I have forgotten what it is like now. My hair has always been thin, I have thought about wigs but then thought people would notice I was wearing one, I used to wear a hair piece to go out but in the 80' s and it was acceptable but I havent done that for ages, maybe the age thing is more a worry now. I eat baken beans almost every day. If I eat chips or chocolate the farting is unbelieveable, I dont do that very often but once in awhile I slip and the kids complain. I had a hiatis hernia also and it came back after the 20 years, so that is why I had to have further surgery and reverse the operation from 20 years ago and then have a revised one done, but I never looked at it as a short term fix this is for life whether it is learnt or genetic it is a problem that wont change. But then even at my smallest I still never felt small so I guess alot of it is in the brain also. The band wasnt an option for me, neither was keyhole as I had too much scar tissue as 20 years ago there was no such thing as laproscopic surgery so it was open surgery then, so I had to go with that this time also Dee
