Getting a lapband "re-installed"

I know that the placement is different now (pars flaccida technique now not the perigastric technique). They note fewer complications (not zero, but less) with this newer technique. I don't know if the band itself has changed much... I know people that have had their band removed for slips (which is almost never done unless so severe like yours). One lady got her new band within 2 months of her slip. She's doing great now. You can even get a new band after erosion, which really does a number on the stomach. There is a lap-band forum here where you could get lots of info. You'll find the majority of people from the US there: http://obesityhelp.com/forums/LapBand/a,messageboard/board_id,5359/ The format is a bit different. I hope this helped!

Dear Ashley, Hi, my name is Rossie, and after reading your post, I felt for you.I had a Bilio Prancreatic Diversion, back in 1998. I have had a pretty rough road though. My top weight was 163kg...I am happy to say that if you truely have a sweet tooth, then this op is for you guaranteed to bring your weight down to a third to what you are now. This is what I was told, by my surgeon. Otherwise. I would of had the lap band op, but being a sweet eater myself. This is why I opted for the bpd....good luck with your journey..feel free to post me any time. I am am proud to say, that I am at 60kg now! and I really love my new life. Look forward to being reborn again Ashley! Regards Rossie!
