And I have to say, I look freaking fantastic!!!!! What a great job he did. I never in a million years imagined it could look this good. I am flat as a pancake for the first time in my entire life. I would highly recommend his skills to anyone who needed them. I am feeling better each day. The pain sucks, but I will endure for the end result. I dream of the day I can throw on the jeans of my fantasies! I recently saw some pics of others who had the same thing done and panicked a little at their results. Some just did not look so good and were still saggy. He did the muscle tightening and I am as tight as I wanted to be. Woo hoo for me! I am geeked, and this is the present I could have hoped for for the holidays. Merry Christmas everyone! Terri

Rebecca, I absolutely love your writing style on your profile. I was in stitches (no pun intended) throughout! Please do keep updating in the next few weeks, because it would be a pleasure to know a bit more about what to expect, from your perspective.

"My response to people on this site who go crazy with the caps is that I don't bother to read their posts. It isn't worth the trouble to me, no matter how well-meaning they seem to be." It's frustrating though, because I'm often interested in getting information and advice from people on the main board, but...I JUST CAN'T READ IT. I get so disgusted that I give up, even though I'm wondering, "Yeah, what IS the best protein drink?" ;)

What disturbs me are the people who won't turn off the caps lock. I studied newsdesign and worked have as a designer and editor at a variety of newspapers. All caps is actually harder to read than correct capitalization; capital letters all have the same basic shape and are harder to scan with the eye. I'm spoiled by Television without Pity. I post to the boards there quite a bit and they enforce standards for grammar, spelling and capitlization. I'm not saying that they boot people for forgetting a comma. If a post is littered with bad grammar, missed spellings and/or all caps, the mods warn the person to clean it up and to read the site FAQ. My response to people on this site who go crazy with the caps is that I don't bother to read their posts. It isn't worth the trouble to me, no matter how well-meaning they seem to be.

This is what I love about Christians. So Wilby's lack of faith is what keeps god from healing her son's fiancee? That's a lousy deal for the fiancee. I thought god was all about love. Also, that even when you pray, sometimes the answer is "no" (conveniently). Not to mention the utter scumminess of using a family illness to try to push religion. Where did Jesus advocate for that, exactly? Willby, hon, you're doing all the right things. If you want to pray to something, try the Flying Spaghetti Monster. His tentacles reach far and wide

Topic: RE: Honesty?
I lost 50 pounds before surgery. So when people asked how I did that (and these were generally people who knew I was about to have WLS), I had a few answers. I told them that I exercise six days a week, 45 minutes to an hour at a time; that I never, ever eat fast food or drink pop; that I drink 64 oz of water a day, and that I focus on smaller meals and getting plenty of protein. None of the people I've given my secret to want to follow these minor guidelines. They hate drinking water, or they don't have time to exercise or they can't live without bi-weekly Quarter Pounders. Fair enough. But they asked me. If people ask me in future how I've lost weight, I'll probably tell them. I don't really see any reason not to be forthcoming; I'm not ashamed of the surgery. How people react to the news says a lot about them and nothing at all about me. If anyone is ever rude to me about it, I'll tell them to go screw themselves. That said, not every question deserves an answer. If someone asked you how your sex life was, or if your wife's breasts were real, you wouldn't feel compelled to reply. Answer the question as completely as you like, depending on who's asking and how they phrased the question.

Via Dona I was asked to post the following from Rebecca. I'm home. Very tired. Some pain, but not terrible. Can't use my laptop, so am using e-mail address from desktop computer (long story). If you could have one of the OH Atheists tell the others on that board that I didn't die, I'd appreciate it. ta, Rebecca Golden Rebecca, so glad you're home!!! Of course you didn't die. Can't wait to hear your hospital story as soon as you're up to it. Barb
