Hey all you fellow independent thinkers!!!!

What a great place for those of us who are simply OVER reading all the "God led me to this place," and "I'll pray for you..." For me, this time in my life is about taking control of my own inner addict, and changing my life for the better. I'm a lesbian, in a relationship with my very best friend. We've got a doggie, a kitty, and two teenagers. My partner and I have both been denied surgery, so we've taken it upon ourselves to try the Adkins diet. It's working for us. She's down 100# since January, and I'm down 40 since June. We're doing it, like everyone else: one day at a time! I'm sure I'm gonna love this place. Honest, grounded thinking. No Jesus freaks. No one sending me prayers, and praying for my soul... I'm ready to talk to people who are independent thinkers. You're my kind of people! Jessica

That's right Jessica! No one here will be applying the blood of Jesus Christ over you and and your family! Somebody actually said that in a post and all I could think was eeeeeewwwwwww...... I was sorry to read that you will not be able to get the surgery but both you and your partner are taking decisive action and doing well so far! Your girlfriend's 100 pound loss is an amazing accomplishment! I couldn't have done it! That takes a lot of strength. Please keep us updated how both of you are doing! I hope this forum will be a place where independent thinkers will come to talk about WHATEVER including those opinions that might get us flamed elsewhere on this board.

Congratulations on the success with Atkins. You sound like you know what to do and are doing it day by day. I loved your first sentence - as that's why I came to this board. Thanks for posting - I am so glad this board is here.
