Topic: blood sugar issues nearing goal weight
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has heard about or experienced this. About a year ago, I started getting really shaky and feeling sort of dizzy. I checked into the hospital and no one could find anything wrong. They still cant. I dont have vertigo or any other ear problem. My surgeon said it might be related to dumping/ insulin into my blood stream. I am ready to have my surgery reversed if it doesnt stop because I cant live like this. Is there a treatment? I dont want to get fat again, but I havent felt normal since last sept.
Thanks in advance
Kim

Topic: RE: Pain meds
I have severe arthritis is my knee, I was prescribed arthrotec 2xdaily. It is a wonder drug for me as far as pain is concerned. I was in the hospital for a couple of days without it and boy was I in severe pain, so much pain I was in tears. They took xrays and a scan told me to see my orthropedic specialist as soon as possible. After I was discharged from the hospital I took my meds and within a couple of hours the pain subsided.

Hey Blonde- I see you posting over on the VSG Board- I had VSG on 4/21. I also have Psoriatic Arthritis, which is similar to Rheumatoid Arthritis. I go in for IV infusions of Remicade every 8 weeks and take Methotrexate too. I had my first remicade treatment since surgery 11 days ago- but by last friday I started having a flareup again. I am going to see Rheumy again Thursday.
I wonder if the surgery was trauma enough to upset the balance of things in our bodies?
Let me know how you are doing- I just found this forum also.

Thanks for the info, Faye. I didn't think it should, but I went to one doctor in my area and he said "any surgeon would be crazy to touch you"! I was very upset because I had never been told that before. I have an appt this friday with a different doctor, so I'll see what he has to say. I have my fingers crossed.

Topic: RE: Anyone take Mobic ?
I have RA/Lupus and have been taking Mobic for about 4 years. It works great for me, and no side effects. I had my surgery 11 months ago, and I am 126 lbs gone. I also take Prednisone, and infusion IV of Orencia, and the combo gives me a life. I am not superwoman, but I am able to live without as much pain. I also started on Duragesic patches for 6 herniated discs. I also am 41 with both knees replaced, so that gives you an idea of what I am dealing with. They feel it started with Juvenile RA. My daughter tested positive at 16, and my Mom is crippled, and unable to walk at 61 due to the same problems. Anyway the pain patches work wonderful. Side effects for me are dizziness, drowsiness occasionally. Another good thing to try is Lidoderm patches. These all are absorbed through your skin, and don't effect your stomach. I hope some of this helps. I had a big flare up when I had my surgery, and it took me a good 5 months to recover. I still have real issues with fatigue.
Topic: RE: RA pain
I have RA for about 7 yrs, I also have ostio and psoriatic arthritis. I was on Humira for 18 months over 2 yrs ago, but lost my vision in one eye, I have since regained about 75% back. I am on Metho, and Rituxan infusions and my pain is still pretty bad. I had lap band on 5/6/9 and so far have lost 19 lbs. I walk and that is really all my body can handle at this point...
Topic: RA pain
First off I want to say I am so excited that I found this forum-- I've been on OH for a while now and had no idea this was even here!
I had my sleeve on March 20th and ever since my surgery I've been inflamed all over! Even after starting all my meds up again. I feel constantly uncomfortable-- no major flare ups just inflammation everywhere. I'm on humira, methotrexate & piroxicam-- which before really kept me out of pain (except occasional flare ups every other month or so). I thought 46lbs off of my joints would help. It's been really hard for me to exercise with all this pain-- which is making me stall! GAH haha I have been swimming which is pretty much the best exercise EVER anyways but I don't have much motivation because of the pain.
Does anyone else have RA here?
