Topic: RE: RA pain
I too have RA and have the Remicade infusions and use Methotrexate and Ibuprofen.

Somewhere on another board I read a post about someone getting a flare up after surgery. I hope this doesn't happen to me but it does seem very likely.

Feel better soon.

I wish I could help with this, but I honestly have never found anything to counter the RA fatigue.

Please know that I'm hoping it passes really soon for you. It's one of the worst things about RA.

Looken for others who have gout from mild to severe, also arthritis in knees. Seeing what meds u take or treatments u do to deal with the medical issues. I have also been experiencing  pain and swelling at times in my elbows, and few times, in wrist. Wondering if that from arthiritis.Well if any one has and adivise or help let me know thanks.

Topic: RE: Any one else having problems with with disability and getting medicaid.
Thanks for info. Awhile back when i ws told to get a lawyer, and was referred by others who have gotten disability . They refered me to the local congressmans office, and they said they do and would help with disability claim, so thats good. They have been helping a few months now. As i have no income cause i cant work, i thought i could atleast get medicaid. they told me to wait till i got approved for disability, . They said only way i could get medicaid with disability is, low income,  be a woman, have kids living with me. Im not  a woman. I have a kid doesnt live with me, they said doesnt count, but if he did live with me i could. doesnt make since. SO ive been jumping thru hoops for  awhile now. To me seems they only want to help people *****ally dont need help, then the people *****ally need help, they make them go thru crap. But thanks for the info. Sorrry i got a little carried way there typing lol.

When you finally get it, you will get back pay to the point at which the judge determines from the medical record that you were disabled.  SS is allowed to appeal the decision in your favor but I don't think they do that too often.  After ruling in his favor, family member had to call his congressman to get the check released.  Also, once you have disability, they put you on Medicare not Medicaid.  In the meantime, if you have no income, go ahead and apply for Medicaid.  You may qualify for it in your state.  It is difficult to deal with SS but you have to jump through all the hoops.  It's a pain but hang in there.

Topic: RE: Is Gout considered a non -medical co morbitity?
Hi ive had gout for years. As the years  have gone by it has gotten worse and more frequent.  This last time, the goat attack last 7 months my feet so swollen and severe pain.   It finally went away, but then it had made my knees worse, dr said most of the cartlidge have been damaged, like bone rubben on bone.  But what i wanted to say was. i have taken colchicine, and for me it didnt work, they doc gave it to me in the middle of attack, and it never seemed to help. So i stopped taken it. I read somewere it takes it a while to work, and some times it makes the gout worse at first , until the colchicine  actually take full effect after a few weeks etc. has any one taken it how does it effect them.  I have also taken allpurinol. it didnt help even. So far i havent found anything that gets rid of the gout attacks,i normally have to deal with it till it works it self out. Any one have any things that may help with gout. and Im also looking to get wls surgery,  Wondering how the surgery will affect gout in short term or long term, . any info would be great.

Unfortunately, it's going to take more than a year to get disability.  It took a family member of mine 4 1/2 years plus a lawyer.  You will need to get one but don't worry.  They get paid when you get your disability.  You won't have to pay them.  The other thing is to get your condition well documented by the doctor.  That will help.  Good luck to you!
