I am hoping to notice a difference soon, only 1 week out from surgery.

I have rheumatoid arthritis. I have to give myself shots every week. I couldn't give myself a shot for a total of 5 weeks (2 before surgery, 3 after). I had a bad flare up after my surgery. After taking my shots for a few weeks, it finally calmed down. Talk to your pcp or whatever specialist helps you handle your arthritis.

I think you will gradually feel better, the more weight you lose.  But the arthritic damage is already done,  and you can only recover just so much.  We all have to pay for our past weight gain.  The weight lose is a wonderful thing. You will feel alot better, eventually.

Past history with weight loss has shown that for me, I begin to feel improvement with my knee pain at about a 10% loss.  So, if I start at 300 lbs, I need to lose about 30 pounds to start to feel a difference.  Hang in there!!
