 When using the biologics you must not use them for 2 weeks before surgery and can't continue them until you have absolutely no open wounds afterwards.  That can mean 2 months of no meds--which can equal lots of pain and stiffness from RA.  You have to decide if the surgery is worth not taking the meds because you absolutely would not heal properly taking them and would likely get a superinfection.

Yes that is right...my doctor just started me on Humira yesterday and told me that if I have any kind of procedure/surgery done I will have to stop 2 weeks prior and not to start bac****il I have clearance from the surgeon or him.

I cannot wait to get plastics done..of course I have some more time to wait.  But I know this excess skin is adding extra weight to my joints that can go away.
