Prilosec with remicade

I just had a sleeve gastrectomy 2 weeks ago, and my surgeon wants me on prilosec or another acid reducer for life.  But I take remicade for my arthritis.  I could swear I have read that you shouldn't take prilosec with remicade, but I can't find the information sheet where I read it.  Does anyone know what I'm talking about?  Is there a safe acid reducer for use with remicade?  What about prevacid, or something like that?

there is absoulutly no reason you cannot take prilosec with remicade.  i took remicade for 11 months while on prilosec, no adverse reactions from the drug combination. 

But if you are still concerned, take to your rheumatologist.

Thanks for your insight.  As it happens, I had to be off the Remicade for 3 months due to the surgery, and so far, I am not needing to be back on it  The weather is getting better here, and my old uncle Arthur is not acting up.  I had an appointment with my Rheumy yesterday, and we decided that I might as well stay off for a while.  So problem solved!  Thanks.
