HI thanks for the reply.  Seems we both been thru a lot dealing with this. I just received today my denial for second time. I'm really upset, not sure what to do. LIke u i havent really worked since about same time in 07. I was out of work from nov 07 to april of 08, I went back to work driving trucks. That i  was seating all the time was reason i proball could work then . thought i had gotten better, only worked 2 months before problems came back worse than ever.Eventually was bed ridden then finally able to use wheel chair to get around.  Then is when i filed for disability. I should have filed for it in 07, but i hate to ask for help and i felt disgraced for asking for disablity. But long story short Ive been to doctorsng been denied twice now. I havent been to as many docs as i wish cause i cant afford it. SO basically playing the waiting game. Disability doesnt think I have problems, The gout has basically ruined my entire legs knees feet. Constantly swell and cant move. When not swollen, i cant really walk cause its done destroyed all the cartlidge in  my knees so im screwed all around lol. IM really sorry to reply back with all this writing. I just dont get to chat with others who are goin or went thru same situation.  But i appreciate your reply and advise. I  know how it is by people working on your case.  the first 7 months on my case they didnt do anything. finally they were like oh someone left in on so and so desk and never got around to it. that was early 08, but since then they have moved a lil faster not much. I think this time for my 2nd denial it took 5 months from last denial. I told them hell just help me get some medicaid something so i can go to doc. Well im going to go. Sorry again for long winded reply.

hi gunterm my name is cindy I applied for ssi in aug 2005 had one hearing and was denied and now waiting for a second hearing , my first attorney was a legal aid through the attorneys office that i thought i hired ,they didnt show or discuss all of my medical stuff either, anyway after i lost that first hearing i got a letter from my attorneys office telling me they were dropping me because i didnt win my case [ dumbist thing i ever heard ] and i couldnt get another attorney to take my case for my apeal athe next level so that whole two years were wasted ,the attorney i had was one that ssi recomended to me off their list . im a woman and i cant get ssi either , my doctors tell me its cause im not the right color but that just doesnt make sence either . I wanted to tell you that you can go to yur [[ county welfare department or county hospital and get free insurance ]] , it took me a while to figure that out but its been very helpful , I had major spinal surgery through the county . Plus if you are taking blood pressure meds and or aspecialy anti-inflamitories these two meds can cause and worsen gout and swelling , I know from experiance . after reading how so many called their conngressman im thinking we/I should do the same

Cindy,
Don't give up it took me 7 years and I went before a Judge 3 times before I was approved SS wants you to become tired and fill like you will never win but pray and hang in there I knew I was not able to work and I had a lot of Dr. info. to back me up.

OMG sacfarris 7 years ! If i didnt have my daughter to take care of me i would be homeless . I think ssi wants us to give up n die or kill our selfs so they dont have to help us.

Glad to hear that you got a lawyer.  I am trying to get disabiblity alo.  I was turned down twice.  Then I got a real good lawyer.  The bad part is the waiting game.  It has been almost of year now.  From where I am I am told that I am in a stack of 2200 applicants and they will get to mine eventually.  My lawyer keeps good documentation on me.  I also was approved to get a disabiltiy tag for my car.  I am told that plays a good part in determining my case.  Good luck and don't give up...it will happen one day.

my son got medicaid january had major back surgery in june. it took him 3in half years to get it now theyy are denying him medicaid even though he had back in january and also when he had surgery in june everything has been going fine we just got a letter that he is not  eligible now cause he didnt go into a nursing home for the back recovery surgery. so they took the medical part away now he cant go back to his surgeon or finish therapy, he has no way of getting his pain meds. he also needs knee surgery and now he been denied we called the therapist to cancel his appointments for therapy she said let me check on the computer sure enough it shows denied medcaid. so im going to write to congress this is so wrong and degrading to my son he has so much pain and needs this help the only reason he didnt go into nursing home my husband and i and younger brother cared for him ourselves we had a walker and wheel chair for him and a cane .it was hard but we did it but the medicaid office said we did wrong ,why cost tax payers more moneys ?we are just sick and devastated right now my son is in limbo he cant work at all yet he needs medical attention we have no means for insurance my husband and i are on ssdi so finances are tight paycheck to paycheck i dont even know if his surgery will be paid for even though he had it the card and all.no said he didnt have it at the time this just came up.theres no way h can the surgeon therapy omg makes me sick to me stomach.nothng like getting kicked when your down.my son is 29 yrs. old has worked since 16 yrs old he just needs to get the help so he can get his life backyou know no wants to be in this situation but things happen.this is wrong what medicaid has done to him so wrong

I received disability fairly quickly, but I had previously been on insurance until I couldn't work anymore and had plenty of medical documentation with rheumatoid arthritis, psoratic arthritis, sleep apnea, osteoarthritis and bipolar disorder. I applied in Feb and was approved by May of the same year and had my first check by Aug. I didn't have to get a judge or anything like that--I just had the proof that I was seriously disabled.
