I thought you shouldn't take them with RNY, but okay with lap band or ds.  Anyone elses doctor tell them they are a no-no with lap band.  Do you know why they wouldn't be okay?

I live for my NSAIDS...borderline addiction I guess...I havent met with my surgeon yet but I figure they will probably tell me to lay off them...I have arthritis of the knee so I dont know how I will function...anywho I hope you can take them...the pain can be a witch (trade the w with a b) you know what I mean!!

Good Luck,

Hello Sheryl,

all my doctors including the laoband dr have given me the ok for n'saids.

The only thing I do as a precaution is make sure i have a little something in my stomach like a glass of milk or some crackers...

I have had naproxen prescribed to me and have had no problems or concerns with my drs.

That's good to hear.  I think my doctor is extremely strict which is probably why he has such good stats, but I don't feel like weight loss will totally resolve my arthritis pain.  It's good to hear that not all doctors feel the same way as he does.  I will probably try the Tylenol that he suggests for a while, but it hasn't helped in the past so I'm not expecting it to help now.

They also have tylenol arthritis.. have you tried that one? it has i believe 650mg in it. a bit more than your reg tylenol extra strength...

I haven't tried that one.  Right now I take 1000 mgs of Naproxin.

Oh ok.. I was given that as well but was told to come off of it since I got a little one on the way!!

So if you take 1 of the 650mg of the tylenol arthritis that is 1300mgs.

Do you have your liver tested every so often if you're taking Tylenol?  (I think its hard on the liver, can't remember for sure.)  I think I'll give my doc a call about trying the Tylenol now to see if it will suffice.
Thanks for the info.

Oh, and congrats on the baby on the way. What a blessing!  I sure am enjoying my granddaughter!  She turned one Jan. 14th.  So much fun!
