Rheumatoid Arthritis Pain Meds
I take weekly injections of Enbrel. Since I had to stop taking the injections for a period of time pre and post op I was really suffering and now I started taking it this week again after 7 weeks and in 2 days I was feeling less pain. It has potential side effects(not due to WLS) but I can't live without it.
Hello,
I have completed all necessary labwork/x-rays for lapband surgery and just found out yesterday that I have RA - will I still be able to have the surgery? I feel that the surgery is my last resort and my health will suffer if I don't have the surgery because I just can't lose the weight and keep it off. Anyone who has or is going through this please respond. Thank you!

Yes, you can., There is nothing about the lap band that makes you an unsuitable person for it. In fact, my Rheumatologist encouraged it as did my GP. I had surgery April 29 and have lost 57 pounds. Mobic is an anti-inflamatory that is sometimes given for the inflamation. I really like it.
Do walk though. You can do this and it will help with the weight loss. If you have any other questions, just ask. I've had RA for about 9 years. I feel like I've been there done that on the meds.
You might also want to go to www.Rheumamisfits.com. It is a great board for asking questions and getting real life answers.

My Doctor has me on Naprosyn, and indocid, and Tramacet for pain. I have to be honest these havn't helped very much, and the naprosyn kills my stomach so much i avoid it at all costs. My mother who takes pain meds had endocet , and it helped. Shoudl I ask the doctor for this or not. I hear it can become addictive and that bothers me although i heard the same about tramacet as well.
