Pregnancy and Rhumetoid Arthritis

Hello, me and my husband decided that we want to have a baby before my dr places me on methotraxate..which causes birth defects. What type of meds did you use during your pregnancy? Were you ok as far as pain? Thanks for your reply. Irene

I also had to stop methotrexate in order to get pregnant. 4 years down the run and still no pregnancy, but hoping WLS will fix that. I've been on Enbrel for about two years nd from what I can see online it is fine up to get you pregnant. My Rhematologist is fine with it... it appears from the internet it is now classified as a Class B drug during pregnancy so it may be ok, but I'm not sure about that... either way, it seems all systems are go until we get that BFP. Hi there... Yes I did receive word from my OBGYN that the prednisone that I take (5mg x 1 a day) and the plaquenil (200mg x 2 times a day) is ok to take during pregnancy. In fact, I got the ok from all 3 doctors. All my lab works came back fine and she's like just get pregnant!! so, thats what we're trying to do. Right now I am just trying to maintain my weight and wouldn't help to loose a few either.. I just wanna get preggers already!! thanks for letting me share and for your reply! KIT Irene =)

Hi there.. just wanted to write with an update... well it seems that I guess this concotion that I am on is probably not working anymore because I am in alot of pain.. I have an appt tomorrow to see what other alternatives I have for meds... and since I am TTC i would like to see what he will put me on... I need relief soon! This is depressing.... Irene
