They found Gallstone...
They found Gallstones in the Er xrays!!! Is it possible to hold off on gall bladder operation? they did not find any infection in my blood or urine. I am supposed to have lapband surgery in mid to late October If I have surgery soon will it interfere with my lapband surgery in Oct? anyone in this situation? thanks to all *****spond ...Arianna
I don't have any personal experience, but I know many people have their gall bladder removed at the same time as their lapband surgery. Depending on how much pain you are in and how your body is dealing with the gall stones, I would assume you could wait and have a two-for-one surgery. I would also assume that surgery now would indeed cause your lapband to be pushed back. Maybe you will be able to push your lapband UP and have it sooner?
Sorry I couldn't be more help. Ask your PCP and surgeon.

Arianna,
I had RNY 8 months after they discovered Gallstones....they finally took my gallbladder at the same time as the RNY...You can wait as long as you have no fever or infection...Get your doctor to presribe some pain relief and stay away from fatty foods until your surgery....The doctor can give you advice about a "gallbladder diet".
If you have stones, eventually, you will have to have a gallbladder surgery...I don't know if its possible in your case, but if they can do it all at once,,,,you will be lucky...
What I have heard is that if you have had previous abdominally surgeries, doctors may be unable to do your band surgery laproscopically; so if you have the gallbladder surgery 1st you may have to have an open procedeure for the band...Something to think about...
Only your doctor and you can make this important decision...
