I too just discovered the regrets board and it freaked me out a little. I have not yet had surgery, so hearing all the negative on that board sort of turned me off a little. I was fully aware of all the risks and dangers but reading about it all in that one place can be rough.
I believe like the others said, one has to be serious about this whole lifestyle change, do their research and stick with the program.
How have you been since you had surgery last year? How do you feel? Complications?
All the best to you!

Yes Im feeling much better. Im now 4 months post op and down 54 lbs. Dr Needleman is a real sweetheart. He has a great bedside manner. He office is a very busy office, but everyone there has been very nice. Most of the time if I have a problems I talk to Kathy Foreman his nurse practitioner. She is really good about returning phone calls even if its 6:30 at night. They took care of everything for me as far as insurance goes. They fight the battles for us. I chose RNY because I was afraid that I would cheat with the lap band because I have a really bad sweet tooth and I love junk food. Im 47 yrs old and i didnt want to wait up to 3 yrs for my weight to come off. Dr Needleman also said that most people have better luck with keeping the weight off with RNY. There are days that I would love to have a donut, but I dont because I know how bad it would make me feel. As far as recovery, it was easy. Pain wasnt bad. I had a hysterectomy i***** and it was much worse than the RNY. I hope i have helped you out some if you have any other questions at all please feel free to email me. Also KathyOH that is in chat almost daily had Needleman as well and feels the same way as I do. Good Luck!
I think its very important to be honest with myself and also know that I have done all that was agreed upon regarding the wls. This will eliminate the feeling of failure, etc knowing you have done all you could for your health followed by a search to a solution to the current problem.
Again, thank everyone for sharing-good or bad. It helps many of us in many ways :)
I do hope/pray success for all...its never too late.
Thank you kindly for response:)
Thank everyone for accepting anybody here on the community of OH :)
I agree with Dana, please continue to share your truth regarding the current complications you are experiencing. It's people like me who feel great reading the success stories but know that it's not a piece of cake either...there a possibility of some complications, if not more than others. I have notice by reading that the complications level can vary depending on previous levels of complicatons -health wise before the surgery as per surgeon.
I wish you all the best and I know you can do it. You have many good people on the OH board praying and wishing for all great things and speedy recovery :)
See ya soon on the thinner side....
