Has she tried digestive enzimes, the good ones from the health food stores. I completely stopped my weight loss for 2 months and finally figured out it was the enzimes.
I love my ds

Hi - I had the VSG with Dr. Macik on 7/29/09 and so far have lost 55 lbs.  He is a great surgeon!!  He is on the quiet side however, if you have questions, he happily answers them and doesn't make you feel bad for asking.  He did visit me at the bedside and actually had me stay at the hospital a little longer than I planned due to complications from the pain meds.  Right after I got home, I was having problems wtih reflux but called his office and was able to get OTC meds.  Not sure if you have already had your surgery but I can tell you that I have no regrets and have 2 close friends who have had the surgery in the last month with Dr. Macik who love him as well.  He doesn't baby you but will support you and help you make the transition.  If you make it into his office look at the books in the waiting room that have notes from past patients.

Best of Luck on this journey!!!

Topic: RE: Anyone 3+ yrs post op? I want to hear about any complications
Where do I start.. first 3 years where great and down hill from there.  I have had hernia repair, a kinked bowel.  I have many vitamin deficiencies.  I have took over 12 iv iron infusions. I had my uterus removed to stop my periods.  I would get an infusions then have my periods and lose it all.   I have low blood pressure.  My sugar now drops like a rock and I tremble all over.  I have had RLS for years but now it is so bad I cry most nights.  The worse one of them all is the chronic bone pain I have now.  I have days I can't do daily chores because of it.  Only reason they can find for the bone pain is where my iron was low for so long.  I had been at goal for since one year post op with just a small bounce up and down.  Now I have lost 25 pounds since June.  I can't afford to lose more.

Some days I don't know if I am more miserable now or when I was obese.  I worry about whats to come.  I self paid for surgery because I had no medical problems.  Never hardly ever seen a doctor.  Now I have a list of doctors and medication.

I use to be active on forums but now I hide back.  I know many people have success and never have any problems.  This surgery is a life savor for them.

I will be 6 years post op in June.

I know a few people friends of family and people who know people that have had RNY, and they get so depressed they turn to drug and alchol for confort. so if you are havening signs of depression PLease seek medical attention befor you do the same. Call your Sergon tell them how you are feelling about the complications maybe he knows something we don't.

Topic: RE: Has Anyone Had There Surgery Reversed?
I apologize if I offeneded you or anyone else on this forum. At one time things were very rough going for until the point I could not stand it anymore and did consider getting a reversal but my surgeon refused he said in time it would all improve and gradually I have become better. I just wanter her to know I cared, that's all. Sorry.

If this is the best you have to offer why don't you just keep it to yourself. You are wasting board space.

This is probably a dumb question but have they tried medication? Protonix?  You just didn't mention that and I was curious.
