I wish you the best of luck. I would definitely talk to your surgeon. I hope that they can fix it if something was done wrong. What kind of surgery did you have? Even if the surgery was done correctly, maybe your surgeon's team can figure out why you're not loosing weight. If they don't have a team, you should find a nutritionist who specializes in bariatric patients. I also saw your other post on a different board. Don't let them get you down. Good luck.

Dear Lady, May God bless and keep you. Your words have moved me to tears of joy. Every word hit home for me in more ways then I can put into words myself. Thank you so much for adding this to my daily prayers. I have copied it and printed it out put a copy on the frig., in the bathroom and on my bedroom wall. So that anytime I feel down and out I can read your powerful words and snap myself back into the land of the real world where life has its up and down, but really it is up to each of us on how we are going to deal with it. You have truly made a difference in my life. God bless, Janet

THANK YOU DEBRA, ALL THIS HAS EVER BEEN ABOUT IS ME AND MY PERSONAL PROBLEMS. IF YOU READ THE POST THAT I MADE MONTHS AGO, THAT IS WHERE IT ALL STARTED. I WAS GOING THRU A VERY TOUGH TIME AND I EXPRESSED MY FEELINGS, NEVER ONCE SAYING TO ANYBODY THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE THE SURGERY, I CLEARLY SPOKE OF MY ISSUES. I KEEP THINGS REAL AND HONEST BECAUSE MOST OF THE PROFILES AND POST I READ WERE ALL POSITIVE SO WHEN I STARTED EXPERIENCING CERTAIN THINGS THAT WERE DIFFERENT FROM THE ALL GOOD, I FELT SCARED, LONELY AND DEPRESSED. SO I DECIDED TO SHARE ANY PROBLEMS THAT I HAD IN HOPES TO HELP SOMEONE WHO WAS SUFFERING IN SILENCE. I DID NOT WANT ANYONE TO FEEL THAT THEY WERE ALONE AND THAT THE THINGS THEY WERE GOING THRU WAS UNIQUE ONLY TO THEM, THAT IS MY MAIN FOCUS TO BE TRUTHFUL IN ORDER TO HELP, YET NOT STAND STILL AND BE BEAT DOWN FOR MY OPINIONS AND MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCES. IT IS AWFUL TO BE BEAT DOWN LIKE I WAS FOR SHARING WHAT HAD HAPPENED TO ME PERSONALLY. ADRIENNE

It's denial. People figure if they avoid finding out about the down side, or avoid stuff like the memorial pages, it won't happen to them... Not smart, I agree... Nancy 394/275/180

I just want to say thank you Vicki, I was refeard to this sight because all I want was to hear the bad and the good, no one on the IN sight ever said much about the problems from the surgery. And when I ask some lady more or less said everyone dies.... well I don't want to die to do this my bmi is only 40 , the main reason I wanted it is becasue I go to the doctor for my feet, my knees and my back, and they all say lose the weight that is the most important thing you can do, I dont want to be in the pain I am but, I don't want to die or be in more pain from complacations and I just wanted to know if the problems really out way the surgery. Thank you PS.... I do want to be alot smaller also , but want the body to stop aching....

Ya know I hear stories like yours on the board and I admire you all! I kick myself because I couldnt stick to the liquid or soft liquid plan. I ate 1 week after surgery because I couldnt deal with not eating. I had fought 3 long years for this surgery and here I am not able to deal with therules. I try not to eat any junk food, but I do eat my trail mix and chicken strips and I had a taco from Taco Bell today for lunch,And I finished it. What does that say to you, that I could eat a whole taco! I dont want to gain the weight back by stretching out my pouch but I think that later on when I'm able to eat a whole meal I will choose the wrong foods.I thank you for your support,it does help me by thinking twice(for today at least) what I put into my mouth. Well I guess it depends on what type of surgery you had...how much you started out at...etc...etc.... I started out at 296 and lost about 32 pounds the first month...then it dropped to 8-13 pounds each month after that. But I ate so little the first month...a tablespoon of mashed potatoes was all I could handle at one time...half a scrambled egg...a tablespoon of cottage cheese...these were complete meals...the first month. I ate about 3 tablespoons of food each day. By the 2nd month...I was up to 2-3 tablespoons of food for each meal. I can now eat about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of food at one meal.....last night I must have been hungry because I ate almost a whole grilled cheese sandwich. I had the RNY and the surgeon I use leaves very little of the stomach left after he is done...I had about 1 ounce when he was done....and I didn't want to do anything to ruin it...so I ate very little in the beginning...I was head hungry...and I was craving something to crunch....but I avoided anything not on my list and just focused on getting my protein and vitamins in each day....I was lucky to get in 2 meals a day in that first month...I just wasn't hungry once I started eating. All I knew when I had this done was that it wouldn't work unless I made it work...and I didn't want it to fail and gain the weight back. I am down 111 pounds in 10 months and I have 40 to go. My only advice to you is to eat good foods....eat veggies (cooked well done) and dairy products...if you are hungry...make it worth while....eat cheese cubes or nuts...at least you will get protein. I even added over-cooked egg noodles to my diet after the 1st 30 days. I guess you might want to talk to your dietitian on your next follow-up visit with your doctor. You are on a follow-up program aren't you? Good luck!!!
