Topic: RE: This needs to Be SAID!!!!
I just mailed my evaluation packet yesterday, so I am just starting on this leg of my journey.
This is beautiful and I have printed it down and posted it on my cubicle wall at work.
This applies to anyone whatever they are involved in.
I don't know why I am the way I am. Maybe I overeat, maybe I have had a tramatic childhood and use food as comfort, maybe I'm just lazy. None of that really matters. It's the past and I have to look at everyday as a blank page of paper for me to write on. You can't dwell in the past or you will never know what lies on the road ahead.
God Bless

Hi jackie, Hope all is well and just wanted to check in on you. Are you still going ahead with the reversal or have you changed your mind? Whatever your decision I wish you a safe and speedy ending. Take care and god bless. Julie H
Topic: RE: Question For Women
This is what I was told from a Doc.
Estrogen is stored in fat. That's why many obese women have irregular periods or do not have them at all. The more fat you have, the less estrogen there is to be available for the body to use.
Weight loss releases estrogen, resuming your periods. Also the stress of surgery can trigger a period for some women (it did for me, but only for 2 days).
So, Jamie, I'm thinking you are normal. Please make sure you are following recommendations for Iron, etc, and if you are going heavy all the time, you might want to call your doc.

One thinng I think I need to add....
My husband met me when I was chunky and I was the 1st chunky woman he had ever dated. He is a Marine, and image is everything in the Marine Corps. He used to get razzed about being with a chunky girl. He would tell them that he fell in love with me, the me inside and not my body. That was back when I was a size 16, now I am a size 26. He has never made any negative comments about my weight except that he worries about my health. And he has always been supportive of my weightloss efforts...so I hope he will be this time too.

Jen,
I have to agree with you. I am also pre-op and at one point, when I would casualy mention WLS, my husband would say "NO WAY". When my doctor said that all my weightloss efforts were not working and that my health was in serious jeopardy, my husband became my biggest supporter!
I think for a marriage to work in general, WLS or not, there has to be good communication. This is something he and I established before we got married. Now we have been together many years, we have 4 children, and he's watched me put on 80 + pounds to my already overweight frame. To this day he tells me daily how much he loves me and that I make him so happy.
I tell him about all my appointments so he is not left wondering and next month my WLS surgeon is having a support group that my husband will go to with me.
Unfortunately, to those who are getting divorces or going through divorces, I have to wonder how solid the marriage was to begin...not to seem insensitive. I have to wonder what the communication was like before surgery and how supportive was the spouse?
When my husband comes home from work, dances me around the kitchen in front of our children humming "strangers in the night", I could never imagine life without him.
Or am I just being naive????
Good luck to everyone and remember, your are a beautiful, strong, and capable woman with or without a man!!!

I wondered about that also. My hubby has always said " I love you no matter how much you weigh" So to me that was my go ahead to let myself go. When I did realize that I was out of control I started to do the dieting. I could always tell when he would notice. He would comment " I don't know why you are dieting......it's not helping" or when I really started looking good he told my daughters when they were about 5/6 " mommy's losing weight so she can find you a new daddy " That worked on me also. That was many years ago. I found out that when he was in the service that he came home and found his "fiancee" cheating. She was the typical "blonde , skinny " person you want to shake. One time I did my hair blonde and he flipped ! As time goes on I learn more and more about my hubby ( 33 years and we are finishing each others sentences ) Now he seems almost excited about my having the surgery. We will see ...........He complains about me shopping too much now....imagine when I have to buy new clothes !
