Hello DeAnne,
I'm only 2 mos. post and I'm not where I thought I should be either. I've only lost about 25lbs. I'm trying to be okay with this and talk myself into believing that losing slower is better but I didn't have drastic surgery to lose about as much as ple lose without surgery.
Losing 115 lbs is AMAZING! When you say that you still shop in the plus size - does that mean that you're a 14? I just prayed that God would push your body and my body into gear and make it work with us rather than against us. I know that apart of it is our own minds and decisions we make - whether or not to exercise daily or whatever - but it wouldn't hurt if our bodies weren't so resistant to change.
I don't know if I've helped. But know that I feel your pain.
Robin.

Weight loss and relationship breaks...
My relationship (not marriage) ended when I lost 85 lbs on a diet. I went from a 26/28 to an 18/20 in a year and I never i magined it would strain our relationship (thought we were headed toward marriage and kids).
Now, hindsight is 20/20. I've come to believe that some people choose overweight partners to affect some type of control over them. While I thought I had a great relationship with my ex, I have come to see differently. He was looking for someone who wouldn't battle him on certain things (selfishness, etc.) and I think deep down he felt an overweight woman would just accept whatever she had. LOL, not my type of personality, now or before.
I think the weight loss, from WLS or natural methods, brings out our confidence and a confident woman will strive to fulfill her own needs, as well as her partners.
To some people, that's a threat....
Topic: RE: My Hair loss....
Hi Kathy,
I'm Kathy too but from Allentown PA. I had RNY on 2-2-05. I'm down 108lbs so far but with in the last 2-3 weeks my beautiful thick brown hair is thinning. I pick hairs off my clothing and seem to constantly be cleaning out my combs. I swear I can see my scalp shining in the sun when I look in the mirror. My friends say they don't see a difference other than my hair looks dryer than it used to, but it still shines and looks nice, but I am freaking over the loss of hair.
My surgeon says it's not the amount of protein I take in but how rapidly the weight is coming off. He says you don't see any bald people in my office do you? Frankly I'm scared.
How long does the hair loss go on, and does anything really help with the loss?
I agree too that other than the hair loss, and the sagging skin, I would do it all over again.

Topic: Need some input
I can't honestly say I am disappointed with my surgery but I am not where I thought I would be two years out. I have lost 115 pounds and still shop in the plus size. I am no where near my goal weight the doctor said I could reach. I am torn between going to see if I need a revision or staying put and going to see the plastic sugeon. I believe God did not create me to be a thin person but I don't want to be a fat person either. I know no one can give me answers but any input you might have could ease my mind. Thanks DeAnne
Topic: RE: Always HUNGRY!!!!!!
Ya know I find myself wanting to snack instead of having a real meal. I remind myself that this is a NO No! I just dont feel like cooking anymore since the surgery. I guess I dont find it fun anymore! I dont know. I just dont like food anymore. I eat because I feel hungry or because I get light headed but other then that I rather have SF popsicles.
Hugs & 's

Hi Patty!
I hope everything went well on your appointment and you guys were able to come up with some solutions. You must be horribly disappointed and frustrated with this whole mess! I wish you the best of luck!

"My surgeon has convinced me to have the r-n-y anyway"
That statement concerns me. A lot. Why would you give a decision that will affect the rest of your life into the hands of someone else?

Rosie,
I am out 3yrs. Only time I get hungry is when I eat carbs also. I stay away from most grains because I have a reaction to them. (food sensitive). Wheat makes me bloat and I feel like a mac truck has run over me and my weight can go up 5lbs over nite, So I avoid all grains.
I also have to watch how much veggies I eat because if my carb goes up so does my weight. Try giving up some of your carbs and eat more protien and see if you are still hungry.
