Topic: RE: Always HUNGRY!!!!!!
It can be the terrible "head hunger" and that's kind of "normal" if is that it will pass if not consider talking to your primary doctor it could be anxiety. Many things changed and many others will change as time pass and many of us were not told about all this. Good Luck.

Topic: RE: How many divorces have come after
dana i am sorry to hear about your divirce, however if he was such a drag you are much better off. reading the responses i agree. communication is the key. when me and hasband met i was 120 lbs. he was and still is a jealous man by nature. now that i weigh 240# he is still jealous but not nearly like before. on the other hand that was years ago and people mature and grow up. i have talked to him about this and he supports my decision for wls and said that he might get a little jealous, but i reminded him and will keep reminding him as i lose that i am with him and only him. he loves me for me and nothing will change that. after all jealousy is stemmed from a persons own insecurity, so a little reasurance now and then can go long way. well good luck in your new single life

Topic: Help with an assignment...
Hello all,
I also posted this on the main page, so if you have already seen it...sorry.
I have been a lurker here for almost two years and today I was wondering if you could help me...
I am writing a research paper for my english college class and was wondering if any of you could help me. My subject is about the support given or lacking for post-operative bariatric patients (support given from your doctor's office...we all know OH is GREAT!!!)
So I have written out a few questions to ask you....if you want to answer them off the board, then please just e-mail me.
1. What type(s) of support were you offered before and after surgery?
2. Did you take advantage of these services offered?
3. Do you feel as though you received apporiate support from your doctor after your surgery?
4. If you could change anything about your doctor's support system, what would it be?
5. Were you 100% honest when you took your psy eval?
6. Do you think you should have been required to have follow up visits with the psychologist after your surgery?
7. Do you feel as though the surgery created or solved any emotional issues for you?
Any information you can give will be greatly appreciated...
Thank you soooo much....

Topic: RE: POLL
Hi Darla,
I am a Lap-Bander, and I am almost 20 months out from surgery. I have lost about 54% of my excess body weight. (80 lbs.) I have been thrilled with how it has worked for me, and would do it again in a heartbeat. I had a small complication at 6 weeks out, my port flipped, but it was a very quick, easy fix, and I was on my way to being a loser! : ) That was the worst thing that I had to deal with. One thing that you should realize, is that the % of the thousands of WLS patients who post on these boards is very small, and it is mostly just those who have issues after their surgery. Most patients are just out there living their new, healthier lives and not telling us about it on these message boards. Good luck in your decision. : )

just another point, no one has ever lost as much as with a rny as a lap band. You are a little uneducated and i find your comments rude

Darla,
I will be 2 years post-op Oct. 28th. I had my Open RNY in Mexico, because my insurance would not cover it in the states. I have not had any complications and have never felt more wonderful. Everyday I know that it is the best think I have EVER done for myself. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat!!!
My husband had it a week after me and my daughter a year after and they say the same thing.
Wishing you many blessings in your weight loss journey.

Can you tell me where you found it.I would like to read it as well.Thank You.
Topic: RE: POLL
My only regret is not doing this sooner. I am almost 2 years out and have a 4 month old daughter. I have been extremely lucky in this journey. I have had no major problems, I rarely get sick and if I do it is self induced. I hate that I was unable to do this on my own, but know I would have never done it on my own. I know this because there are still times my head gets greedy with food and I think I can eat as much as I could before and I am grateful after that moment passes that I cannot.
I've never felt better!
Good luck!
