Ok I am not a lawyer but I watch a lot of TV about lawyers. Maybe you could get together with other fallen CORI patient an file a class action lawsuit. Most companies hate negative publicity they may fold just at the fear. there has to be a way to sue for the exp[ectations of the care they were supose to provide have you tried calling other CORI centers and getting a itemtized list of how the fees are allocated? later Heather

Topic: RE: Any DS regrets?
there are are regrets w/ every surgery. wls is not a perfect cure to what ails us....just do lots of research....sometimes things just go wrong, in the big picture, my opinion....life is one big crap shoot...excuse the pun. I'm 4 years out on 11/27....have had ups and downs, the ups outweigh the downs. looking for perfection? it doesn't exist, that's a sure recipe for disappointment and failure. have heard excellant things about dr. m....i think you're in good hands although, in california i know blue cross started approving ds again. at least i know a few of dr. k's patients in delano started getting approved. why not look him up, just out of curiousity? anyways....good luck.....annie

Robin, I posted this on another board. I hope it helps, especially when people make it sound like you're not working at it, or you don't want it bad enough. You need encouragement right now, not chatisement. Don't despair. We all hit plateaus, and it's really frustrating. We have to remember that the weight comes off fast in the beginning, especially the more we weigh. But once we get to that 6 month mark, it slows down dramatically. I've also found that sometimes I have to take a break from the OH boards, or it just depresses me. Everyone is posting about their wow moments, or the sizes they can wear now, or how they've already hit goal, and I wonder what I'm doing wrong. The answer is "nothing". People lose weight at different speeds based on their gender, height, starting weight and especially, age. So when I see that someone who had the surgery on the same day as me has lost more than I or is already at goal, I have to remind myself that they may have been heavier when they started, they may be shorter, or they may be younger. This isn't a race nor a competition, it's a life changing event we chose to get our health back. I'll never wear size 5 jeans, but that was never my purpose in having surgery. I wanted to get healthy again, and I'm now off of all my medication but one pill, and that's at a quarter of the dosage that I was taking. Don't stress anymore about it. One of these days, you'll find that your pants are looser even though the scale hasn't moved. The next thing you know, you'll step on the scale and it's gone down again. Keep the faith. Terry

Lori: Yesterday, I found a new site (new to me). It's called Struggling Bansters.com. a Yahoo Group .Seemed to me that there might be some practical suggestions for you on that site. One lady talked about purchasing a product to "clean out her system". Don't know, but you could always check it out and take the best and leave the rest. I'm pre-banded but read everything I can get my hands on. You never know when something will click when you really need it. Good luck, Sandy

Hi Robin, Yesterday was my worst day yet. I simple have spent the last few weeks in the frame of mind of regret and "poor me" over this surgery as well. I am also 4 months out and have lost 38 pounds total. It has been very frustrating and the constipation is the worst part for me. I go 3 to 5 days without a BM and then when I have to go, it is painful and takes a long time to pass anything. I cried for several hours yesterday and wished I'd never had this surgery. I am so messed up inside that I have been having a difficult time with this. At first, I had no depression or regrets, but now I feel like you. I know I should be encouraging you, but my personal truth is what it is. Hope we both have better successes soon. Blessings to you, Lori 293/254/130 (wonder if that will ever happen)

Bless your heart! Some surgeons don't tell all do they? I did research for approx 6 months prior to deciding on the DS and it was amazing how many surgeons don't tell you all of your options. Have you spoken with your surgeon about your disappointment? I hope everything evens out for you. Try to keep your chin up! If you have to, go to another Dr for your follow up care. Best wishes, Tonya
