I have heard that it can be done but the surgery is potentially more complicated and dagerous than the original RNY. Make sure you find the absolute best doctor that you can. Good luck, Lynn Banded 9/12/05 300/275/230/140

Hello Chris, Glad to see that you found this site too. I actually found it from your post on the main messageboard. I actually had one of the two doctors I was telling you about early call me this evening. He sounded very incouraging. He told me that he has done many reversals and the main complication is nausea that generally goes away! He also told me that you can go back to the way things were, eating what you want when you want and that includes sugar. He told me that if insurance will not cover it (which I intend to call about tomorrow) then the cost will be around $20,000 but he said it can be done. He also told me that he is going to talk to my pcp tomorrow and make sure that the depression is not clouding my judgement and if everything works out he can do the surgery in a couple of weeks!!!! I know I am not getting the nutrients my body needs to sustain itself. I talked to my husband about this evening but he wasn't as excited as I was. He thinks I need to give this time. I am not sure if he is really against it or if he acted that way because he is sick. Anyway, if I decide to do it he will be there for me. He is so great and supportive. Are you in CA? If so, I truly hope you find a surgeon or look into a plane ride from there to houston, tx or NY. I will ask this surgeon I am talking to if he knows of someone in that neck of the woods. Good Luck.
