Topic: RE: Has anyone had a reversal of the surgery?
Yes, I had a reversal of the RNY. By the time I had the reversal, I was extremely underweight and living on IV fluid and nutrition to keep me alive. Going through a reversal isn't worth it, though, unless you have serious complications from the original WLS
Topic: RE: Lap RNY Reversal?
Yes a reversal can be done. I had to have one because I spent 1 1/2 years not being able to eat anything and only drink about 4 oz total a day. Even though your body isn't exactly the same as it was before the original surgery, it's almost back to normal, at least mine is.

They are all apparently trained how (or at least given the information) but most will not do them. It's extremely difficult to find surgeons willing to do them.

It's not quite "completely" reversible...the anatomy will never be back 100% to it's original form due to the original surgery but yes, takedowns can be done but it's extremely difficult to find surgeons who will do them.
And some people actually have had their remnant stomachs removed...thankfully most RNY surgeons don't do that but some do.

All doctors who perform wls can also perform the take down (reversal)..they just don't all admit to it or do it because alot don't want to bring their success rate down. Check out the [email protected] group for more valuable information about wls reversals.
