Topic: RE: Alert re: confidentiality
I tried Yahoo! and Google and I'm not on either. I believe you, don't get me wrong! Someone from OH posted a 'warning' about this on the NC board sometime last week, I believe it was.
Anyway, I'm glad you made mention of it here. It never hurt anyone to be warned!
Thanks!

Hey Jen, same thing happened to me. I googled my name and there it was right on the 1st page. My whole profile and journaling was up for grabs. I have since deleted my profile. I printed it out first so that I can go back and re-enter it under a different name when I get the time. But, you are right, be carefull and don't use your full name. Good post!
take care
Linda
Topic: Alert re: confidentiality
I have learned the hard way that any information written here on our profiles can and will show as free for all on the internet search engines. Please spread the word to all OH members. (i know many of you already know this. I just want others to prevent what happened to me)
My entire profile with all of my personal journaling showed up for anyone to read on google and every other search engine I could bring up.
I was horrified my private thoughts were broadcasted for all to read. Please do not let this happen to anyone else. Do not use your full real name. Protect yourself. I made the mistake of thinking that OH would somehow protect me from this breach. Do not let this happen to anyone else. Spread the word. Protect yourselfs. Jen
Topic: RE: was chased away from wls grads???
I just got my 4 month labs done and they were awesome!! I am very diligent about my vitamins and I am very particular about the vitamins I take. I know people say they take Flintstones or pre-natal, etc., but I only take a liquid high absorption vitamin, liquid calcium, sublingual B-12 and chewable B-12. These are the same vitamins I took prior to WLS. I started taking these vitamins almost 3 years ago when I started researching WLS and found out that most vitamins that we take are not absorbed by our bodies. The liquid vitamin I take is Miracle 2000. I have not been sick at all since my surgery. My only complaint is that I lose very slowly. My cholesteral was over 200 prior to surgery and now it is 157!! At my smallest weight of 144, my cholesteral was 159. Also I no longer have high blood pressure. If I don't lose another pound, WLS has been worth it for me because my co-morbids have been eliminated.
Topic: RE: WLS Candidates - PLEASE check out the DS procedure
The Extraordinarybandsters group on yahoogroups.com probably has more info...to even join that group you have to have started with a BMI of at least 50...lots of success stories in that group...they may have links to more information.

Nancy,
You are one of the most knowledgable on this board. I am tired of people saying that the band is ineffective for people with a bmi over 50, but I can;t find proof on the web from a legitamate source. Do you have any websites that I could show these naysayers?
Thanks is advance,
Joel
