What is your experience and why are you and your wife regretting it? I'm getting sleeved on 4/25/13 and am considered a lightweight because I'm 214.8 lbs and am 5'3". For me I feel that VSG would be a great tool to get me down to 130 lbs.
It's been 8 months and I still can't keep anything down, vomited so much I now have a dilated stoma. i really wish I never had this surgery.
I have done very well, got down one size smaller than my goal with absolutely no regain for being 6 yrs P O as of tomorrow..3/19/13.. no complications whatso ever but! have had 1 more heart attack 12/22/12 1 more stent.. so why do i regret having done wls to lose weight and get healthy when i must not of been healthy as I got a wake up call with heart attack P O ..wls,,dammit!

Wow.... there are no words to express the depth of your despair! My heart and prayers are with you. Many times we are left wondering what happened, what didn't happened, and why we didn't see it coming. Please know that the love we shared with another human being is the most important thing and the only thing we remember when it all comes to an end. I wish there was some way to fill in the huge chasm that must have formed in your life. Hang in there

The only thing I can suggest is perhaps a Rheumatologist appointment - I have heard that gastric bypass is being associated with anti-immune disorders (which your symptoms would fit into). I have had many of the symptoms you describe and more. Best of luck - hope you find an answer - follow what seems to make you feel best

Low carb long time... frequent meals - every 2-3 hrs a small snack will keep the hunger away
Artificial sweeteners - are known to cause hunger, same with SA - at least for me. Dense proteins - with non-starchy veggies - not only that stabilize my hunger - but long term - allow me to forget about food. For me main issue was to eliminate food with gluten - it was an accident - but worked better than expected.
That and liquids in between meals.

Exercise is fine and regular. The hunger is the monster. Protein or not.
Thanks.
Yea it's a constant battle after wls previous issues or not..I'm going through a mess of things and to top it all off I had heart attack # 2 ,3 weeks ago. I thought how could this happen after 110 weight loss I eat 90 % healthy, and I have maintained my weight loss. Now i have 8 stents and open heart surgery and wls. Doctors discovered thyroid and lung tumors now. guess some of us just have never ending health issues..Also going through menopause myself too.
I told my surgeons nurse i wanted a reversal Rny, she said it just causes even more issues with scar tissues. and the rearranging of your insides..I was having problems with the scar tissue from all the stents i had put in me. causing me to limp....I would work with what you have and go back to the beginning of your wls..Use it..I do...Hugs to you stay strong..PeaceV Wendy
