Topic: RE: DS - wishing for reversal????
Please check out the Vertical Sleeve forum! Also look at Amy P's profile on the forum. It gives a lot of info and is very inspiring. Go and post a lot of questions! I read all of the different option boards and then made a decision on surgery. Have fun researching.

I am only 5.5 months out, but have no regrets on my RNY. It has been a major life changing event - and not all of the changes have been pleasant to undergo. Pychologically, it has been the most difficult. I think you should do all of your research, talk to surgeons, go to support groups, and get all of the info before you go ahead. It is a major decision that you need to be sure of. And as you can tell, some people really do have complications - and even death is possible. So please be sure. I have lost 90 + pounds and am off many of my pre op meds, my arthritis is managable (where I thought I might have to quit teaching pre -op), and I am sleeping thru the night most nights which is very rare.

Hi, this is in response to your posting and others thus far. I have not had any major complications so I cannot empathize with you, but agree that everything about this surgery is not easy...IN FACT, SOMETIMES IT IS DAMN HARD. My problem is phycological. I am not regretting my decision...far from it, but I realize that I might face complications (after all you were a year out, right?) I wish you the best and hope you suffer no more negatives.

I agree. I am only 5 months out and I have no regrets. Its been a wonderful experience. Has there been some bumps and hard times - definately. But each was worth it.

Have you tried weight training?? I have read many places including info from my doctor that lifting weights is as important for fat loss as aerobic. Might be worth looking into.

I just wanted to know if anyone had RNY and wished they had gotten the lap-band... or vise-versa?!

Young Lady, you have made an amazing transformation, and you have had the knowledge all along the way. Only now you have the confidence to go with it! Thank you so much for the boost to my moral. The simple truth is...once a person gets to where they want to be in life and deal with certain factors all along the way, they pick up wisdom and experience. I am now much wiser, cautious, and looking forward to the next adventure. I wish you happiness with your relationship, and hope you make some wise choices, you know the answers already! Hugs and love, Marilyn
