I'm one of those banders having it removed and not quick enough.  I will have had it just under one year when I have the revision to a sleeve.  It has been alot of suffering for only 25 lbs.  I had lost 10 more but managed to gain it back with the fills and the unfills because I'd either be too full or too loose.  It is constant maintence with the band.  I cannot wait to get it out.  Think long and hard before you do the band!  Good luck!

I'm a little over a year out and did the same research prior to my surgery. I didn't find any regretters back then and I haven't had one regret with mine either. I couldn't be happier.

I am so sorry you are having a hard time. My Aunt had the same problem post op and they gave her a mild antidepressant. She is doing great now. It takes a while for us girls to re-regulate after such major body/mind shifts. There is no shame in a little pharmaceutical assistance.

It is a scary propostion, no doubt. It is a very vulnerable feeling being on the operating table. I think if your surgeon has a lot of experience, you need not be as worried. I wish I had chosen a more experienced surgeon, personally. I wish you the best with whatever you choose! To the children of Mary Wright, you have my sympathies on the loss of your mother. I am very sorry. Nicci

Thank you !  I would be interested in learning about your complications of surgery.  I agree with your post.  I am still scheduled to meet with Dr. Buchwald on July 16, but I am scared to death.  It sort of freaks me out.  I go back and forth about having surgery at all, and then about what type of surgery to have!  It is all so overwhelming, even after researching and reading and contemplating for years and years. Body by God; alterations by Buchwald.  I love Jesus.  I so so so appreciate my DS.

Kitkat24, what an intelligent post. You said this very well!  I didn't have gastric bypass. I had the lapbanding done with horrible complications being the end result. I received a message from some random nasty woman today telling me that I MUST be lying or a hypochondriac since SHE didn't have any problems at all.  No one knows what anyone else goes through while striving for a healthier life.  It takes a very small minded person to have no compassion for those who had poor results, in my opinion.
