i don't blame u at all for being pissed off. i would be to. to only lose 16 pounds in 4 months.... i'd be mad and regretful. then to go thru this life changing surgery and be sick all the time on top of low weight loss. u need to vent. i'm sorry about all ur regrets, tho. i just hope it turns around for you... sue

Robin, Bless your heart....I didn't have the surgery you did, I chose the DS...but my cousin had the RNY....she lost 135 pounds in less than a year, BUT she's steady gaining it back. Her problem is she still eats sweets....Not sure if you've been noting what you are eating or how much, but Fitday.com is wonderful for tracking. Sometimes its not that you are eating too much, it's that you aren't eating enough. It sends the body into starvation mode and it will hold onto everything cuz it thinks it won't get anymore. Good luck, Tonya

Aloha Cubs Fan, your email was very inspiring. What a wonderful story to share. You also reminded me to stay away from the breads and carbs. Now that I hit my goal weight I was kind of getting lax. That is dangerous. Tomorrow, back to no carbs. Keep up the inspirational responses. Hugs from Maui

Robin, There have been a lot of good responses on here from people who care. I am going to say that I agree you need to get back to your doctor and make them tell you what is happening and what you need to do, then do it. If you follow their directions to the letter and it doesnt work let them know. If they are of no help at that time, get a new doctor. This is just a tool, not a cure. You have to use the tool but you need to have the instructions on how to use the tool. Don't hesitate to email any of us here or write in here. We are in this together. Use it, make it work, stand up for yourself and demand the care you need to get through this. Remember God helps those who help themselves. Joyce

Robin, It seems like you have had a lot of good advice here about what to do on your part.... but it seems that you should definitely be seeing your surgeon about this... is there a staple line disruption??? with the stricture and the smaller pouch, you should be losing more and not less?? I'm not so sure it is what you are doing, but you didn't give us much detail about that... cover all the bases.... I agree at 4 mos you should be seeing more loss!!! Good luck B

Well I'm 23 yrs post op and actually you lost more than I did at 4 months...I was in the hospital 10 and only lost 4 lbs the doctor was almost applaled...I think If I remember right I lost I had lost 20 at 6 months I was in the hospital with Nell Carter in Birminham... the Good news is I started st 347 am at 160 a bit up and a bit down from there. 23 yrs girl.. How long did it take to gain it you'll be fine...I was scoped many times....4 weeks ago I had to have my plumbing redone because of scar tissue in my stomach.... They thought about just opening me up and taking the gastroplasy out and leaving me a normal stomach I asked if possible please fix it..... Now I should have probably lost more wt.... But I haven't But I'm ok with the wt thing...I just need to get healthy again..... Also try to find out if you have a latex alergy...just an idea..didn't know till after I developed one..started a scar tissue problem for me.... May an ora of health hold you softly Wendy

Hi Robin, Yesterday was my worst day yet. I simple have spent the last few weeks in the frame of mind of regret and "poor me" over this surgery as well. I am also 4 months out and have lost 38 pounds total. It has been very frustrating and the constipation is the worst part for me. I go 3 to 5 days without a BM and then when I have to go, it is painful and takes a long time to pass anything. I cried for several hours yesterday and wished I'd never had this surgery. I am so messed up inside that I have been having a difficult time with this. At first, I had no depression or regrets, but now I feel like you. I know I should be encouraging you, but my personal truth is what it is. Hope we both have better successes soon. Blessings to you, Lori 293/254/130 (wonder if that will ever happen)

Lori: Yesterday, I found a new site (new to me). It's called Struggling Bansters.com. a Yahoo Group .Seemed to me that there might be some practical suggestions for you on that site. One lady talked about purchasing a product to "clean out her system". Don't know, but you could always check it out and take the best and leave the rest. I'm pre-banded but read everything I can get my hands on. You never know when something will click when you really need it. Good luck, Sandy
