I regret not having WLS sooner...
I do regret not having WLS sooner than I did. I wasted so very much time sick and disabled by my weight and co-complications, like depression, scoliosis, asthma, emphysema (I've never smoked), sleep apnea, all-over pain and discomfort. I never really played with my kids, my grandkids, or my husband.
Now, after having a RNY-lap surgery almost six months ago, I've lost from 282 pounds to 192 pounds. The past month or so I developed a pretty intense dull pain in my stomach and to the left, under my left rib. I put off calling the doctor's office until a few days ago. I was prescribed prevacid which I have taken once a day. No more pain. I go to the doctor next Thursday for my appointment.
My biggest regret is perhaps not listening to my doctor's initial recommendation to have a lap band. That's only because I absolutely hate taking my vitamins and minerals. Ugh!!!
I am more alive today than I was in December. I have gone from a size 3X to a 14-16 (Large). I still suffer from depression, and I still use my c-pap machine for sleep apnea, but I don't SUFFER from asthma and emphysema. I suppose I still have it, but I'm not suffocating like before.
I am thankful for the surgery. I am grateful to my doctor for his professionalism and expertise. I am very grateful to my husband for the medical insurance which allowed me to have this surgery without breaking the bank. I thank God that I lived through the surgery to better the quality of my life.
Do I regret it? Not really. I just need to get my ducks in order and start taking those yucky supplements for which I am also thankful.

I could not have said it any better myself. I do regret not having this surgery over two years ago when I started researching it. I could have already been at my goal. Now jsut 3 months out I am loving every day I see the weight going going gone.....If I dont lose any more I would be happy for the fact that I have lost weight...feel better..and look better.
