I would love to hear from anyone that has had a Panniculectomy. I had the surgery 4 weeks ago and it has been a miserable month of recovery. If I felt good now that would be great, but the area is so hard especially the pubic area, and I am still downing pain pills. I have had many surgeries over the years but this has been the hardest and most painful. The Dr. said every thing looks good but I don't feel like it is healing fast enough. At this rate I won't be back to normal for a couple of more months. Am I being too impatient? If anyone has had any experience with this proceedure please let me know how it went and what to expect. Thanks so much, I am in Ca.

Have you tried posting this on the Plastic Surgery Forum? I'm betting you can get some feedback there. Best of luck, Caeli

I have not personally had this surgery, however, I do know that with surgery in general, protien expediates healing. Try boosting your protien and water and move around as much as you can to encourage good bloodflow to the area. I hope you feel better soon. Best regards, Jaimee

Hey...look up Caroline Martin on the CA and PA boards...you can run her name I think... She's had every PS surgery there is... I thought "hard skin"...was dead tissue... that's curious to me. Dead tissue or necrosis is of course, NOT GOOD.. hmmmm.. Best wishes, K

I haven't had a penniculectomy, but I had a breast reduction over 10 years ago. I felt the same as you. It was very hard to recover. Do you think the hard tissue might be swelling? My surgeon told me it takes almost a year for all swelling to go away from surgery but after 3 months, I didn't even notice it. And my breasts still look great. Of course, after I lose 100#, I'll need those puppies lifted back up.

Hello Marlene and Congrats,
Well I have been Blogging alot about a tummy tuck and from what i am told this procedure is everything but hte cosmetic. So I have learned you have plenty of swelling and it almost takes some too months before full recovery from the swelling. Now did you have drains or not  I know alot of women I hhave talk to say they feel like a balloon and some time they have extra liquid that need to be removed. I am in Ca too. The Riverside area! No salt I heard I also blog on realself.com about procedures,,, Good luck on your Journey!
