what a nightmare!
I am scheduled to have the surgery. My sister had it three years ago and she quickly said. What have I done? She also did not have the fast loss. She also missed food. She was very upset and had a tough first year. But having gone through it she did get better and is so glad she did it. She supports me because the benefits outwiegh the first year. And I am counting on the thoughts of others who have gone before me-good or bad to help me keep me focused on the end results. I pray that it gets better for you.
I made the mistake of thinking that whatever I couldn't eat a couple of months post op - I always wouldn't be able to eat. I didn't realize that my insides were healing and along with the healing process I would be able to eat more foods and do so much better. I am almost 2 years post op and just the last few months enjoy eating bananas. Things will change as you heal and it does get better. I can eat just about anything and it doesn't bother me as long as I stay away from eggs, ice cream (even fat free/sugar free), milk unless it's non fat and then in limited amounts, etc. I love cheese and can eat it with no problems. Whatever you're going through right now please remember that it will change with time and give yourself time to adapt and try things slowly and when you know you'll be at home in case you have a negative reaction. I wish you the best.
Hey Annie -
I am reading the regret board and I saw your posting. I am so glad you are doing better now. I read your profile and it was so GOOD... you know why.....because you told the truth.
I am so thankful for you because many people do not post the truth they just don't post anything at all and say....things are great....when they are NOT. SO THANK YOU.
