i have had the luck of some of my skin going back to normal. i have not had much hanging not more that what i had. i am young (somewhat) and they say that age is on your side with this. some insurance companies will cover a tummy tuck if it is a health risk (causing rashes and so forth). i have even heard of some covering breast lifts. i will tell you that this was the best thing that i could have done. if people do not like the way i look they do not have to look at me as long as i am happy with myself. i also exercise 3-5 times a week and this helps. i would be glad to chat with you directly if you wish to e-mail me [email protected]. i hope to hear from you. tammi i have lost 98 pounds in 7 months and about 60 inches

they say there are factors involved.... number one being how much weight you have to lose. there are several types of weight loss surgery too. So do your research. The Lapband, you lose weight a bit slower than the RNY, but I've heard the slower you lose, the more chance your skin has to 'shrink' with you. There's a lapband forum on here if you are interested or have questions. I had the band on 6/28/4, so I'm a 'newby'-but so far I love it! Remember, if you have alot of excess skin, your insurance company might cover plastic surgery for medical/hygiene reasons (ie lots of skin folds can lead to rashs, yeast infections, etc) You should look into what your insurance will cover..then you will know if you might be able to get plastic surgery to take care of it down the road. Best of luck to you whatever you do.... Dori

I have not yet had the surgery either waiting for approval but so far what I have seen out of 5 people that I know the younger you are the less loose skin you have and yes insurance does pay for some plastic surgery my friend can get a tummy tuck if her stomach skin hangs an inch over her pubic line but hers does not her legs nor her arms look bad at all she does have a little sking on her tummy but not bad at all.

From what I understand you really have to work out. I have very large arms and breast and I am very worried about this too. One of the things that I am doing is starting to work out those areas NOW! ( I have just started the process ) I am m sure your skin has more elasticity ( due to your age ) than some one older. Hope this helps.
