I have searched all over - online book stores, libraries and can not find this book by T Holtzclaw. She has a new book out but this first one is what I want to find. Does any one have any sources that I could look into? My surgery is scheduled for 6/25. Thanks!

Glad I'm not the only one. Actually found it at Amazon - it is pricey - Almost $40. They must have gotten some supply because they didn't have it a few weeks ago. Also it is available on ebooks - but that is still $29 and then you are stuck reading from a PC or computing device. Go into Google and enter the phrase - "This is not Brain Surgery" by Holtzclaw - and it will show you the links for the ebook and Amazon. Holtzclaw herself had WLS some years ago so she speaks from experience as well as being a doctor/specialist.
I don't usually visit this board because I don't have any regrets but wanted to answer about the book. Amazon does have it for th $40, and it was worth every penny as far as I was concerned. However, she does have an online version of the book. Unfortunately I can't remember the website. If you look up her name on any browzer "Teri Kai Holtzclaw" it will come up with information. Send her an e-mail asking for the online verzion. I had the opportunity to meet her at an OH Event that was held in NYC last month and she really is an awesome lady.
Hope this helps,
Patti
Patricia, thanks for the response - it is a GREAT BOOK - I have a regular WLS library here. Slowly going through Dr. Holtzclaw's book - letting it sink in. Couldn't help but review your profile - didn't they do a great job of its layout AND most of all, your story is most inspiring. Congratulations on everything!!! How exciting - it sounds as if your support group really brings in the speakers! We have a good support group here in mid-Jersey - a whole new support network! I'm almost four weeks post-op - getting a bit tired of mush - would really like a salad. Oh well, I know it's just time. Best wishes!
