7 months out frome RNY reversal
i would say the best habit i got into during the RNY was of course cutting out sugar and now i really still can't eat much sugar heavy items. I have been pretty good at either keeping sugar out of my diet or not overindulging in it. This has helped to lose a lot of weight. I also don't eat a lot of starchy foods because it is too heavy on my stomach. If i eat a piece of bread i pretty much can't eat anything else. I make a conscious effort to eat three times a day, at least. I do eat foods high in protein.
I never had trouble exercising before, but now i do exercises i enjoy doing instead of one's i feel the NEED to do. I don't like to run, so i swim. I am not big on gyms, so i do martial arts and dance.
Hurt my shoulder and couldn't exercise for 2 months and still able to maintain my weight loss by just taking into account what i eat.

I think you have no idea how your body works, or what the doctors have done to you. Between the original surgery and when you had the "emergency reversal" you went from 237 to 173. That is that is 63 pounds in 5 months. Not that dramatic. What did you think was going to happen? Quit trying to scare people. Also, there is more to the RNY than stomach restriction. You have had your intestines rearranged. Are you saying they changed all that back? You have not stated you problem clearly, and you don't make sense in what they did to make you right.
Wow that is a lot of ugliness there and really I don't have the time for that. If you don't want to hear what i had to say, you didn't have to come into the post. I do believe i posted on WLS Regrets. But you know what, life has been good to me lately and some anonymous person on a website is not going to bring me down.
I am sorry for whatever is going on in your life, that you need to respond the way you did, i hope things get better for you.
If you want to talk about the actual reversal will be more than happy to.

I am just tired of people posting stupid **** for no reason except to promote their own pity party. Your nesceince knows no limits. If what you say is true it is because you whined so hard and long the doctor just caved into your demands. That is why they have psyc before surgery to weed your kind out. Some just manage to slip through. Don' t come on here and spread lies.
here is a study supporting the constellation of possible neurological issues that can happen with wls.
I also had mine reversed 3.5 years after the surgery. now its been 2.5 years and for the most part I have my health back.
it is not mere whining, but just putting it out there so hopefully others dont suffer in the silence I did

Wow, why such venom? This forum is to learn abut everything that can happen wth the RNY surgery, to hear other people's experiences: the good the bad and the ugly. I wonder if fiftyone 52 is just afraid of what might happen and does not want to hear anything that is not perfectly positive. maybe he/she shoudl review his/her own thoughts and readiness for the surgery. I don't understand the anger at someonewho is just sharing their own personal experience, not telling anyone else what to do.
Wow, Shengdangie, you handled that a lot more graciously than I would have. There certainly was a lot of ugliness in that post, but I believe it must be from someone who is bitter about not having the success that you and many other people have had. That's a shame. We should all be proud of eachother.
I, for one, am so glad that you posted that on here. I think that contrary to what someone may think, you know more about your body than ever before. The fact that you can live such a healthy life, having had bariatric surgery and now going back to normal anatomy is truly inspiring. For that I thank you.
I am on this message board because I am definitely regretting my wls, and I hope that you continue to post your "****" on here, as I love to hear amazing and inspiring stories like yours. The same goes for everyone else reading this...most of you are fantastic people, with the exception of maybe one, and I look forward to hearing more. We can all help eachother in one way or another and I am here to help as well as seek answers for many of my questions :-)
Sincerely,
Di
