Hi,

I am pre-op for the vsg due on February 22nd. I have to have a filter put into my groin to limit blood clots. Have you had any problems with any thing else since the surgery that you did not have before?

No I have had no issues at all.  I reached my goal fairly quickly and have been happily maintaining for over 6 months now...

My sister had the vsg done in April and she is doing really great! no regrets on her part. I am in the process of having this done to, I am very excited about this and cannot wait till this will all be over.

I did eventually have the surgery also. I'm very pleased to say I'm very glad I made this decision! It gave me my life back. I just have to keep active and watch my diet and I'm doing fine and have had no bad side effects at all!

I love my sleeve =)

Good luck to you and your sister...

GOD bless =)

No, I have no regrets! No, side effects at all! I will tell ya' a few things that's been going on though. I was hypoglycemic for about the first 4-6 mos. I added carbs back, which in turn slowed my weight loss down a good bit, but it stopped the dizzy spells and black outs that I was having. Constipation is a constant problem! Even WITH fiber I still have to use Exlax from time to time
:( Carbs do go down better than the good stuff. But they never said this trip would be easy!

This si the easiest surgery I've ever had, I recovered in such record times, sometimes I thought it was too damn good to be true! But it was and I'm thankful to GOD for making it possible and would do it over, over and over again if I had to!

Good luck to you, GOD bless and Merry Christmas :)

Hi...everyone!

I had the VSG surgery back in June 2009 and went from 280lbs to 220.    I've lost the weight very fast the first 3 months, but find I'm only dropping about 1 to 2 lbs a week; which is just fine by me.

I believe the advantage I have is that I'm not experiencing any elasticity problems (no loose skin on stomach, arms or legs) or any nutritional issues.  I have not experienced any dumping or lightheadedness.

Now, on the other hand, I know several people who had undergone the GB surgery, and have lost twice the weight I did -- without even trying.   I only had 100lbs to loose and didn't want any malnutrition or flabby skin issues, so I choose the VSG procedure.  However, if I had more weight to loose or felt poor eating habits may sabotage my weight lose success after surgery, I would have gone with GB.

Just my input…
