I felt the same way as you and I was still in the hospital. My surgery was w/o complications, but I was unsure of my choice to have it. Everyone before us says its normal to feel that way, because we are truly starting a new way of life. It looks as if you are on the right track, and following doctor's orders is a must. I will pray that things improve for you healthwise, and you learn to better cope with your decision. I am feeling better about my choice, still alittle doubtful but making it work for me. You have to do the same! Good Luck! And remember to take care of yourself!
Hi Lilly I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well. It will get better just make sure you take your vitamins and potassium. And remember to sip, sip, sip so that you stay hydrated. Remember to get up and walk around every hr to keep blood clots from forming. Also make sure you get plenty of . In the beginning it's hard you have a new pouch and it's trying to heal as well as the cut you have on your stomach. Try to think of it as a new born baby learning to eat. You're learning to eat all over again and it's going to take time. I had the wls surgery almost four yrs ago come this Aug. My daughter had the wls this past Jan 7th 2008, at first she said to me "mom what did I do to myself?." I told her that she has to realize that she has a new pouch and life will be differen't now as far as eating. It's a life style change. At first she didn't want to take her vitamins or potassium b/c it made her sick in the stomach however, I coached her and now she's doing much better, she's following the doctor's orders and working out at the gym. It will get better please keep me informed you may send me a message on my profile page I will try and help encourage you as much as possible. Remember we're here for you.

Hi Lily, what you are experiencing mentally is 100% normal. Please know that in a few weeks you will be passed this stage and onto the joy of the weight loss. I think it is important for you to #1 talk to a counselor who specializes in Bariatric surgery and also go to a local group with others who know how you feel. I am sorry about your complications that sure is scary. As far as your family being far away, consider yourself lucky (heeee).
Oh my gosh you poor thing. All of the things people are saying is true. You also have to remember your hormones are going to go crazy but thats small compared to what you have endoured.
This to will pass. Try to relax and try so very hard to press on. It will get better. You CAN do this and you WILL be glad you did.
Hugs.

So sorry you had to suffer those complications. I just wanted to write and tell you that you sound a lot like my Mom.
She had RNY surgery 5 yrs ago and went through all sorts of bad complications for a few months and was really depressed for a while. She had pneumonia right after surgery and they sent her home, even being sick. Then she ended up having a collapsed lung, ulcers, had to get a feeding tube because she couldn't keep anything down, dehydration and all sorts of bad things. When I saw her on a visit out to her house (we lived 7 hrs away at the time), she had suken eyes, her skin color was this greyish weird color, she was on a feeding tube, she was severly depressed, and she wasn't acting like my Mom! I went home not knowing what to think and what had she done to herself!! And of course after all that, it's normal for her to go through some depression. She did go to some support groups and had to get on some anti-depressants, but she DID make it through and she is fine now!!
Well she had a bunch of trials those first few months, but now 5 yrs later, she says she doesn't regret any of it, even though she had to go through all that crap. She has kept the 100 lbs off and feels so much better physically and can keep up after her grandkids much better than she could when she was heavier.
You will get through this and it's totally normal for you to cry and go through those emotions. But just realize that this won't last forever and you will get through this. (((HUGS))) And since it's been a few months since you posted this, so hopefully you are doing better.
Good luck to you!
