Hello there. I am currently a patient pending approval for gastric bypass. I truly want to understand what happened as your message post indicated one could ask. Therefore, I am asking in hopes that I as well as others can take whatever precautionary measures they individually feel are necessary to make the best decision for themselves. Perhaps your story would help me make my decisions appropriately.
What would you like to know hun? You can ask any questions you want and I will do my best to answer them. you can email me if you want at [email protected].

I think your information would come across as credible if you were sharing it openly and not trying to solicit e-mail questions. Why even post this if you're not willing to share the information openly? Why must it be done in e-mail?
I'm sorry for your loss, but there are deaths in ANY surgery. It's a risk I took when I had my hysterectomy. You're not stating your mother's health and weight prior to surgery or what the complication was that killed her. I'm making an informed decision about my health. If you wish to inform people about the dangers, then INCLUDE the information needed to make your point. Otherwise, you just look like an alarmist.
Well first of all I am not on here very often and do not know everything about this website, everything I know and experienced with my mom and the surgery she had is listed on my profile. I would assume each person would click on my profile to find out more information. As far as emailing, like i said i am not on here that often, so therefore i am not able to respond very quickly, if you have a question about something that you cannot find on my profile then email is typically the best way to reach me...i check the website only every once in a while. Thanks for your input on the situation.

I'm not jumping to conclusions. What conclusions do you think I have drawn, based on my post?
I simply stated that ANY surgery has the risk of death. I am sorry for your loss, but your post seemed to have an agenda without offering information about your mother's health prior to surgery.
If she were a 44 year old, reasonably healthy woman, 5'6" and 253 pounds who did her research and found a surgeon who had performed this surgery many times before and went into it knowing the risks, then I'd likely listen to what you had to say. I expect this surgery to have a percentage of deaths...there are many people who have this surgery because of life-threatening illnesses and that is going to increase their risk of death having this surgery.
My reaction to reading your post was that you came across as an alarmist. When I make a medical decision I do it based on facts, not on emotionally based warnings.
As for reading your profile, I did that already based on a previous post of yours. You have posted about this more than once, so I'm already familiar with your story.
I am sorry for your loss, but it has very little to do with the decision I need to make for myself.
