I am hoping to find anyone with horror stories about the VSG. I am currently in the final appeal stage w/ ins co. and am hoping for a win, however I am still wondering why I can't find any unsatisfied VSGers. Please advise only if you have negative info as there is plenty of positive info on the VSG forum........Thanks Marc

There are several VSG revisions and revision wanabees on the DS board.  You might try posting this question there.

I had VSG 2 months ago.  Love it !!!  It is the best thing I have ever done for myself.  I almost had lapband.  But in the time I was trying to get insurance approval I spent alot of time on the Lapband board.  Scared the crap out of me.  So so so many problems.  And many serious ones.  Then I found out about VSG.  It is perfect for me no malabsortion or moving things around just a tiny tummy.  It is great.  2 months and I have lost 35 pounds and love it.  You can eat just tiny portions.  Things do not get stuck or anything. Just my humble opinion. Hugs

Hi Marc, This is not a horror story, but a fact. I lost 43 lbs in the begining (surgery was 8/3/07) and alot of inches, I stalled after the first 2 months and I have gained back 5 lbs which I loose back and forth all the time. I am angry that I have come to this stall and can't move. I have taken lots of advice from the VSG board with still no luck. I am not sure if there is something else going on in my body that prevents me from loosing more, but all I do know is............. had I known then what I know now, I would not have risked the surgey and now am paying all this money in monthly installments for the surgery. Sad....Elaine E.

Hiya, Elaine, Just wondering how you're doing these days!  I've been a slower loser, so I know how you feel.  I'm hoping things picked up some after your last post! Lisa

Hi Lisa,

I am probably the worlds biggest staller ever. I am maintaining what I have lost but that's it !!!!!!!!!!! I am almost a year out and am very disappointed! I will see my surgeon the end of this month for a check up, I am anxious to here what he has to say.

I still walk 4-5 times a week, I eat fairley healthy I think (Fruit , Veggies,  and my protein) I went to a Nutritionalist and she read my food journal and said she thought I was doing great as far as my food intake...........Now I would be lying if I told you I never cheated, candy is my downfall but even with my eating it now and again you'd think  I'd loose some??

Thank you for inquiring about me and please keep me in your prayers that the scale soon moves!

Elaine E.
